I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and generous gifts on the occasion of my retirement on 31 July. I am already missing my customers and all the visitors who would just pop in to the garage for a chat.

I know for certain I will be missed by Fergus and Rocco who visited regularly for their doggy biscuits!

I am slowly settling into retirement and catching up with gardening and jobs around the house etc.

I will always miss my garage but look forward to the next chapter in life.

Thank you all so much for your loyalty over the years, and happy motoring.

To all my loyal customers, Jim Petrie Motors has made the decision to temporarily close the garage today March 25 until this virus is under control or when we are advised we can all safely return to work. I am sorry to have to do this and if I have let anyone down I apologise but I can assure you that it is to protect my family and also my customers and their families.

This was not an easy decision but I feel the right one in these difficult times.

I will however assist if at all possible any of my customers who may require an ‘emergency’ repair.

Please look after yourselves and I am sure we will all appreciate normality when it returns to our lives.

I would like to thank all my customers for their business throughout 2015. I count myself very lucky to have a fantastic customer base who have kept me very busy throughout the year and hopefully next year will be the same.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2014. I have had a tremendous 2013 with family visits, surprise trips, and also a great year for my new business, it will be a hard one to beat, but not impossible!
