It's with great sadness and a heavy heart, that I tell you the news that our beloved founder Tom Simpson passed away on the 6th August.

He founded Activ8 in 1992, producing a product like no other. After growing the companies name and meeting many of you, he officially retired in 2005, Passing the baton to his youngest son Chris. He was still closely involved up until his first major illness in 2009. Where he decided to permanently step back and enjoy retirement. (this didn't stop him however, coming into the office and telling me that I was better than Chris or showing us funny things he had found on the internet... imagine cats singing queen 'I want to break free').

From our CD Chris Simpson 'Tom was one of life's grafters who was thrilled to be able to engage with his customers, many of whom, still asked about him after his retirement, to be remembered by so many meant a lot to Tom, and I have always felt proud. I hope I can continue to provide the same level of friendly, thoughtful service now he has gone.'

Tom's funeral is being held on the 29th August at Roucan Loch crematorium, Dumfries. Anyone who met Tom and wishes to say their goodbyes are more than welcome.

Storm Eowyn hit us hard... The warehouse is no more 😞
We have been very busy moving all our products to different primaries.

Please do bear with us in this difficult time, as it didn't just effect the warehouse but our homes, however we are still trying our best to respond to emails and calls, plus send out products.

Can anyone help out these lads! Good boys who deserve a wee break :)

Can anyone help out these lads! Good boys who deserve a wee break :)

The boys are looking for some help out towards repair costs of the bike and getting a new fairing.

As some of you may know Lewis had an accident at the last meeting at Knockhill and the bike took a big hit as well as myself with a broken pelvis in 4 places and broken sacrum.

The seasons budget has been strained as it is with the engine problems we had blowing up 2 before the season started. We want to try and get back out for the Jock Taylor at the end of the year and go to Germany for the FIM Sidecar World Championship round at Oschersleben.

If anyone could help us out towards a new fairing or some bike parts we would be extremely greatful!

Could everyone please share and get the word out. 🏁

The OMG Racing UK team update ;)

Double Top Five Finishes for Ryde on Donington Park Sunday.
The OMG GRILLA Yamaha team endured a mixed Sunday afternoon under the glorious Leicestershire sunshine today, as Kyle Ryde delivered two top-five finishes whilst team-mate Ryan Vickers crashed out of Race 2, also ruling him out of the weekend's final race.
After his victory on Saturday, Kyle Ryde was hunting for more success on Sunday but came just short when the flag dropped on Sunday’s two Bennetts British Superbike races, securing a brace of fifth-place finishes to strengthen his third place in the standings further.
Starting Race 2 from the second row, the local rider made a strong start, muscling his R1 up to fourth before battle commenced. A mistake as two riders battled ahead gifted the number 77 rider a way through to third but was short-lived as he slipped back to fourth at the midway stage. Trying to hold on to his position across the 12-lap race, a move from Danny Kent on Lap 10 confirmed Ryde’s top-five finish, crossing the line just behind his Yamaha counterpart.
The second race of the day saw ‘Youth’ launch from seventh and burst his way through to third in the early stages. But, just like the 12-lap dash earlier in the day, battle commenced as he was muscled back through the pack. Determined to fight till the end, Ryde made his move on Leon Haslam with two laps to go, rewarding him with another solid top-five finish and 11 more championship points secured.
Ryan Vickers’ Sunday came to an early end following a crash on Lap 2 of the second race. Vickers suffered injuries to his left chest and shoulder area and, after stabilisation in the medical centre, where he was able to talk to his family and team; he was transferred to the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham for further assessment and treatment.

A three-week break awaits the BSB paddock before heading north of the border for Round 4 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill.
