A couple of Adas Radar calibrations to finish off the day. Starting with a ‘14 plate VW Golf requiring calibration following on from bodywork having been carried out. Then on to a ‘20 plate VW Golf, which has had frontal damage which required a new Radar and headlamp. The Radar requires component protection to be removed and coded to the vehicle prior to being able to carry out the calibration. All work carried out by AOM 230 certified ADAS technicians. The headlamp module also requires module activation and configuration before it would operate. Finishing the job with air conditioning recharge with the new R1234yf gas, after a new condenser had been fitted. All carried out in house, with minimal inconvenience to the customer 👍

“March Madness” continues! A day wouldn’t be complete without an ADAS Radar calibration, this time on a ‘21 plate Seat Ibiza, requiring calibration following on from body repair. Next up, one of the most reliable cars on the planet, the Honda Jazz came to us with loss of drive, due to a broken driveshaft. Finishing with an A/C service on a nice Mini Cooper, with our newest Texa 712R machine ❄️❄️❄️

Lovely 2020 BMW X5 brought to us today for KAFAS camera calibration, having had a new windscreen fitted, calibration is an essential task which MUST be carried out as a follow up procedure to ensure the multifunction video camera works as intended by the vehicle manufacturer. Calibrations MUST be carried out by AOM 230 approved technicians as per UK Insurance Industry Requirements (IIR) set out by Thatcham. The KAFAS (Camera Assisted Driver Assistance System) is used for the following combined functions: • Lane departure warning • Lane Keep Assist . Traffic Sign Recognition & High-beam assistant. Out with the old and in with the new! Another Texa 712R delivered today as an upgrade from our old Robinair air conditioning machine, which services the old style R134a systems, the majority of vehicles are still running R134a refrigerant, with the newest vehicles running R1234yf. That’s us done for 2021! It’s been a hard year for all during these COVID times but we’ve made it through. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, it’s very much appreciated, which in turn enables us to keep re investing in new equipment for the future, so we can continue to serve you well. A big thank you to Steven and Chris, who also work tirelessly day in, day out to meet the daily challenges we face. We’re now closed until January 5th to allow us to recharge our batteries! Another day, another couple of Radar calibrations 👌 First up, a Mercedes Sprinter Radar calibration, followed on by a New Radar fitted and ADAS calibration carried out on a new T6.1 VW Transporter. Component protection is used on VW/Audi group vehicles to protect expensive components from theft, acting like an electronic padlock. This means when a new Radar is installed the component protection must be de-activated and the unit coded correctly to enable it to function. Once the Radar is “matched” to the vehicle, this is then followed up by carrying out ADAS Radar calibration to make the Radar operational and ensure that all the functions of the Radar then function as intended. All this is carried out “in house” with the most up to date equipment available on today’s market, to enable us to carry out calibrations on multi brand manufacturers. The end of another busy week! An Audi A4 TSI with a P0304 fault code (misfire on cylinder 4) and a VW polo with a P0302 fault code (misfire on cylinder 2). Similar fault code, total contrast in the work involved rectifying each fault. The Polo was a simple case of a faulty ignition coil & spark plug. The A4 on the other hand required engine removal and full strip down to replace the pistons and de coke the cylinder head whilst stripped! No week would be complete without a Radar recalibration, this time on a 20 plate Audi Q3. Timing belt a water pump replacement on an Audi A4 and a nice pair of 20” Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s onto a VW Transporter, to finish off the week. Give us a call ☎️01387262845.

Mercedes CLS front coil spring replacement. A special attachment is required to enable the safe replacement of these springs, as when compressed with conventional methods the strut top can’t be fitted, therefore the strut top is fitted to the spring prior to compressing with the special mounting plate fitted onto strut top, then compress the spring allowing for easy insertion of the strut and refit top securing nut.
