Congratulations to Malcolm Lines on securing a pass in his BMF Blue Riband assessment last week.

Malcolm has some experience on bikes from several years ago while living abroad but is the fairly new holder of a UK licence.

He decided to take a staged approach to his training with several short sessions which allowed him time to get to grips with and practise the skills he was learning.

Delighted to say that his approach was successful. Congratulations again. .

Charis Coltart getting the thumbs up from Examiner Jim Yair after completing her latest triennial RoSPA test. Not great conditions on Saturday morning but Charis put in a good performance maintaining her GOLD award.

We supported Charis towards her first RoSPA GOLD in 2018 and in working towards her retests since then. It is her commitment to ongoing training that ensures she continues to ride to a GOLD standard and there is no significant skill fade in her riding. It is this that keeps Charis riding safely,smoothly, progressively and well.

Congratulations.

Had a solo run out this morning to test my shoulder after some recent physio. Some improvement but a wee bit to go yet. What’s not to like though?

We’ve supported Charis working towards her RoSPA test in one capacity or another since 2018. With her triennial test on the horizon again it’s time to break out the Pledge and yellow duster for a little polish.

Might say double digits but felt much colder than that this morning.

Had a 50 mile assessment and introduction session with Malcolm who came for some advanced training less than 12 months from passing his DAS test with Lowland Motorcycle Training.

Malcolm has to be applauded for seeking further training early and helping himself to be safer and to get the most from his biking.

Bill Coulter travelled from Aberdeenshire to complete some training with us. He was seeking a condensed course to build on his previous exposure to advanced riding input and to gain a recognised advanced riding award. After some discussion he opted to complete a BMF Blue Riband Rider award.

The final element was a visit to Prestwick to meet examiner Jim Yair and complete his assessment which he did successfully securing a GOLD AWARD.

This weekend it is anticipated that there will be an increased number of motorcycles travelling on the A75 and A77, as spectators head to Northern Ireland for the North West 200 🏍️

Thousands of visitors from across the world are expected, and road safety remains a key priority.

Dedicated patrols will be carried out on these routes and riders are reminded that it's not a race to get there!

Drivers are also urged to 'Think Bike' and stay alert, particularly at junctions and areas with reduced visibility 👀

Well done to Alistair Ross on passing his BMF Blue Riband Advanced Rider Award earlier today. He rode well and secured a gold award.

Alistair is a fairly newcomer to bikes having passed his test in 2025. What is noteable though is the approximately 10000 miles he has covered on two wheels since then.

That level of commitment served him well during his training and is reflected in his award today.

Thanks also to examiner Jim Yair for conducting the test.

Different day, different Alistair. This Alistair is coming to the end of his training input and his advanced test is on the horizon. A 120 mile session today to acquaint us with some Ayrshire roads and only one hail shower to contend with. Happy days.
