MOT- You’re allowed to drive without MOT *as long as you have an appointment booked*

The conditions are that the PSNI have agreed not to penalise drivers with an expired MOT providing
-the car has valid tax
-the car has valid insurance
-the car is in a safe and roadworthy condition
-the car has been booked for the soonest MOT appointment available.

Cancellations are faster accessed online due to the process of selecting options on the phone and passing security with call handlers, although the call handlers do not have any access to any other appointments they only use exactly whats shown on the public website @ DVA so therefore cannot create any new appointments. The emergency appointments can only be accessed when you come within 5 days of your tax being up, email and you’ll be sent an appointment.

Further new categories of vehicle are now eligible for MOT testing. The DVA is no longer issuing Temporary Exemption Certificates for vehicles in these categories.
