📸 Photo dump and season round-up from Venhill-supported rider Charlie Chater Racing. He’s had quite the season:

- Joined Sherco UK on a Sherco SE 250 running Venhill clutch and brake hoses
- 2nd in Elite E1 on day two of the Jack Frost Enduro to open the season
- 3rd overall in the Welsh Sprint Championship
- 6th overall in the ACU British Enduro Championship
- 10th overall in E3 in the EnduroGP World Championship with Team Lunigiana

“I was a bit slow at the start of the year but progressed as the year went on, so I’m happy with how it’s gone.”

For 2027 Charlie’s staying closer to home. He’s skipping EnduroGP to focus on the British Championship, the Welsh Sprints and the ISDE, which comes to Wales next year.

“I’ll have a lot more time in the UK to concentrate on the British Enduro Championship and hopefully improve on 6th.”

Can’t wait for 2027 👊

Fair question about any cheap brake line: was it ever actually tested?

💥Every single Venhill hose is pressure tested to 1500psi before it leaves us — and every 30 days we pull hoses at random and push them to 10,000psi, just to be certain.

That’s what you’re paying the difference for.

Did you know? 🤔

There’s nothing pulling your brake pads away from the disc other than the caliper piston seals. They flex as the piston moves and then relax, drawing it back a fraction — that’s the whole retraction mechanism.

If dirt and corrosion build up around the pistons, that tiny movement is lost, which is why a neglected calliper drags, runs hot and eats pads.

Devil in the detail: the hose core 🔥

The bore is where braking efficiency can be won or lost. Cheaper lines use a nylon liner that softens and deforms as heat builds up in the system, letting the pressure that's supposed to be going to the caliper get away.

Venhill Powerhose Plus uses a smooth-bore DuPont® Teflon® core that holds its shape under heat and pressure, so the flow stays constant and so does the feel.
