Whilst it’s generally the case closing rocker clearances get bigger rather than tighter, it’s not always a shim swap needed. Replacing the broken valve retainers brought this one back into spec without any shim being replaced SnS Motorcycles

As there was a few comments on a previous post regarding my ‘period’ desmoquattro cam locking tools, I thought some of you may appreciate this old gem which is how us old boys would set belt tension ‘back in the day’! This tool must be all of 30 years old if not more! Next to today’s TEXA UK tool we can see how things move on SnS Motorcycles

So, this post is meant as a direct comparison between tyres, regardless of any set-up the bike used may or may not need… Same bike, same shock (as stated, no adjustment made between tyre changes) same rider (yours truly) at Portimao. On the left in the first pic, Dunlop 212 medium after 3/4 of a day, tyre on the right in same pic King K00 soft after 1.5 days and the tyre in the next two pics a King K00 medium also after 1.5 days. Only my opinion as a wobbly old guy, but up to this point, I genuinely cannot fault these things! SnS Motorcycles

This very early varese 916 came in as a non runner, a bit of digging revealed the sprag had been left loose in the flywh...

This very early varese 916 came in as a non runner, a bit of digging revealed the sprag had been left loose in the flywheel and eventually sheared off! 😬 thus leaving us with spark and fuel just not at the right time anymore! A bit of careful drilling and re-tapping of threads salvaged the now very hard to come by flywheel. Back together and a ‘belt and braces’ timing check, and we’re off! SnS Motorcycles
