I could watch these all day!

I just thought this was too picturesque not to share. Sorry for the buzzing, I think Mark's exhaust broke the microphone on the camera 😂

If you’re into Vespas, you might enjoy our latest video!

You may have seen our previous post where we welcomed the Veteran Vespa Club for a ride out and tour of our unit. 🛵

We’ve put together a little short video showing some of the Vespas that joined us, the scooters we saw, and what they got up to during the day.

Thanks again to everyone who came along — it was great to see so many fantastic scooters and meet fellow enthusiasts!

New products from MB Scooters Ltd

As part of our up-graded complete boxed MB Dellorto type PHBH carb kits again due very soon - we’ve gone and improved perfection and added a couple of little and I mean little - gems!

I’ve never understood why Dellorto did their Idle/pilot jets in odd sizes which was traditionally 50 - 52 - 55 - 58 - 60 all commonly used in Lambrettas and Vespa tuned engines.

Yes I know you can now get 50 - 51 - 52 - 53 - 54 - 55 etc upwards! Your a better man than me if you think you can fit a 53 idle jet and say it’s different to a 52! There is so much adjustment with the air fuel mixture screw you can adjust from a 50 - 55 and in-between.

Sometimes with the wrong slide fitted can you struggle with air screw adjustment what ever idle/pilot jet you fit. It’s not the air screw - it’s the slide or you’ve left the choke stuck on - a common problem.

Why not go in-between sizes? Say from 50 to 55 that will be a 52.5, it makes so much more sense try a 50 not perfect, try a 55 not perfect the other way - oh lets try 1/2 half way - back to the 52.5.

And thats what we’ve made, a middle setting common as muck idle/pilot jet where 50 - 52.5 - 55 will work with most motors! The chances are you will start with a 52.5 as a standard fitting jet and then set the rest of the carb up.

And it’s the same for atomisers…….

We already make the common AV264 and AV266 - you can jet carbs up perfect if you know needle metering. And of course we make all the standard needles and we also make all the in-between needles that Dellorto never made.

But for those not sure and people have asked for them as others offer this jet we’ve made a new atomiser so our complete carb kits are way ahead of the opposition and now offer the in-between AV265 atomiser.

The 52.5 idle/pilot jet and AV265 needle jet are offered separately and they will also be added into our boxed carb kits.

52.5 (5mm threaded) idle jets that fit PHBH 26, 28, 30mm and PHBL 22- 26mm can be found on this link

The AV265 Atomiser for PHBH 26, 28, 30mm carbs can be found on this link.

Yes they are tiny little parts, the postage is what it is - I’m not going into the costs of running a business let alone having minimum orders of 2000 jets paid up front

If you’re into Vespas you may be interested in our latest video.

We welcomed the Veteran Vespa club on a ride out organised by Big Chris who works for us and just happens to be their club chairman.

And what a man, everything is organised down to the last biscuit! I know - he took me and Alice away for my 60th and both days were recces for his ride outs in 2 years time - thats detail! A week earlier he had volunteers come and clean up our workshop, bikes and reorganise the shop, which helps us ready for our Zundapp Bella weekend due soon.

I was working that day, one of my every other 4 weeks on. Customers were in the shop before we opened, as one came in, another came, as quick as I could serve them another customer came in - it was one of those days!

And to make it worse Id arranged for my daughter and family to turn up with friends who wanted a tour of the building.

As it happened things all went quiet just in time for Luke to turn up with his family, then my daughter and family and friends and just managed the tour before Luke shouts down the workshop ‘their here in 5 minutes’!

Once arrived and parked up, people mingled in the shop, Big Chris did a few tours of the workshop, people took drinks and biscuits and I did a bit of a talk - on Vespas - which only took 20 minutes - he says, but hope it was a little light hearted history of where I’ve been involved in Vespas. Time was ticking so I cut it short and it was time they were on their merry way to continue their fun filled weekend in Wakefield.

On reflection it went far too quickly, before I knew it, the shop was all quiet and just me on my lonesome again.

Hope the video gives you a chance to see our shop again as we’ve been stocking up on Lambrettas to sell.

116 operations just to repair the crankcase side threads!
Each thread had a helicoil and each thread had a badly fitted helicoil and helicoils are not the right repair in this place if using a stud. The stud shank can lock on the hardened helicoil and when undoing the stud and helicoil can screw out! Then each helicoil is only 8mm deep when the studs are 10-12mm long leaving threads hanging inside the casing doing nothing!
Helicoils would be good if you used a through bolt/screw like was fitted on the later Gps. Don’t get me going on Timeserts, these are weak, the threads are too fine and they snap in half, in use.........................

💥 Stop Killing Carb Rubbers! 💥

Its a fact most tuned Lambretttas use a big bore rubber mounted carb supported only by only a carb mounting rubber!

Rubbers were never designed to hold the weight of a carb, let alone the carb and a big air filter that bounces around as the engine moves on suspension. It's no surprise they split and fail.

✅ Fits all left-hand side carb setups
✅ Works with all common carbs and inlet manifolds
✅ Fully adjustable for different manifold angles and carb depths
✅ Simple bolt-on installation

The MB adjustable carb support bracket takes the weight of the carb and helps reduce stress on the mounting rubber, improving reliability and helping prevent costly failures.

The spacer clamps between the head cowling and mag housing, while the adjustable support is positioned to support the underside of the float bowl.

A simple solution to a common Lambretta problem. 🛵

How many of us have peered through the fuel filler, rocked the scooter side to side, and guessed how much petrol is left? 😅

As we get older, that gets harder! That's why we came up with our Stainless Steel Petrol Cap with built-in Dip Stick.

✔ Fits all Lambretta Series 1, 2 & 3 tanks using a standard cap
✔ Marked at 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 full
✔ Makes oil mixing more accurate
✔ No more guessing, bits of wood, screwdrivers or smelly sticks!

The dip stick measures fuel height, not volume, so it works with standard, mid-range and long-range tanks. Simply work out the capacity at each mark for your tank and you're good to go.

Getting your fuel/oil mix right matters. Too little oil can damage your engine, too much can lead to excessive smoke and carbon build-up.

A simple idea that makes checking your fuel level quick, clean and accurate.
