This is quite right to be honest...its really difficult to diagnose within a said budget, and actually pin point problem , then repair it ",like new"...quite often its beyond economic repair vs car value...but most times its cheaper than buying a other car with ITS problems...seen this happen many times with my customers ! I'll bet its happened to you at some point?

Some car exhausts have a flexible joint like this that can fracture , I've repaired exhaust by welding in a flexible repair section

Mgb engine was spluttering whilst cold , reset tappets, checked ignition, checked carburettors then balanced them/ adjusted throttle linkages/adjusted choke linkages and replaced spark plugs.

My latest and possibly the last solar installation

100 ah lithium battery @ 48 volt.
I'm retiring
Fishing and riding motorcycles is much easier these days....
But I'm still working on cars and small vans in workshop. Anything under 3 tons ....!
And the 2nd time I've had to deal with lithium batteries, where as I've always been a dinosaur with ancient flooded lead acid batteries...but I have to say....lithium batteries are affordable. But my benchmark is lithium titanium oxide batteries ....LTO..In short...those are not affordable....but hey, one day...only time really....lithium is now the sane price as flooded lead acid now....so a little more time ....evolution. the future is close !!!!!!
