Here at ES Rowing Services we are not just about rowing. We get asked to make all kinds of specialist parts from composite materials - from props for film sets to luge components.
Recently, a TVR owner approached us to see if we would manufacture an airbox and air scoop from pre-impregnated carbon fabric. He provided two templates which we reworked to create the perfect moulds.
One of the parts required us to create a five piece mould that was then bolted together to enable us to manufacture a one-piece component.
All the moulds were made using a high-temperature resin system so that we could manufacture the parts from pre-impregnated carbon fabric, known for its toughness and ability to absorb heat.
You can see the results in the photos below - and we're happy to say that the customer was delighted!

Henley season is almost upon us and both ES Rowing Services and Kanghua will be there - kicking off with Henley Women's Regatta from Friday, then Henley Royal and Henley Masters. We are looking forward to seeing you all there - and it could be a great opportunity to drop off your boat with us for a refurbishment. Whether it's a strip and repaint or run-of-the-mill repair work, we will have room on our trailer to take it in for repairs.

Kanghua has been announced as official boat provider for the 2026 World Rowing Coastal Championships held in Qingdao China from 11-13 October, and will be offering both boat rentals and a repair service for the duration of the regatta.
If you would like to rent a Kanghua boat for the championship, please do get in touch.
