Established by Tony Duckhouse in 1987. AJD Auto Repairs started off in a small workshop located at Sandringham Motors (now re-developed as housing - Chambers Court) at the junction of Hunstanton Road and Post Office Road here in Dersingham. Business expansion and success saw the need for larger premises and AJD moved to our current site in Bank Road in 1994. Further expansion and site re-development saw the addition of an approved MOT Vehicle Testing Station for cars, light commercials and motorcycles in 1997. The on-going need for investment to keep up with newer vehicle technology and up to date working practises has seen a recent complete refit in our main workshop. New state of the art vehicle lifts have been installed in December 2016 and has increased our capacity in the workshop from three to four vehicles at the same time.
The business is still run by Tony along side his son Jamie and both look forward to being of assistance for all your vehicle repairs, MOT's and servicing requirements.
We also offer air conditioning servicing, re-gassing and pressure testing for vehicles with the new R1234yf gas, as well as still being able to do R134a gas.
We can also offer air conditioning sanitation and decontamination as part of a service and re-gas or as a stand alone treatment.
Ever notice your steering wheel seems misaligned when trying to drive in a straight line or your vehicle pulls to one side? If the answer is yes, this could well be the classic signs of wheel alignment problems.
Steering problems generally tend to occur with the aging and wearing of components. Nevertheless, they also can be caused by potholes, driving over kerbs, and most certainly after a vehicle is involved in a major accident.
Wheel alignment, also known as steering geometry or a term we prefer not to use 'Tracking', is the procedure required to check and, if necessary, adjust settings once they have deviated from the manufacturers’ original specifications.
However, it is also important to bear in mind, if after a steering geometry check and inspection there is cause for re-alignment, not all values are adjustable. Whenever noticeable deviations from pre-defined settings are observed, the only remedial procedure available could well be component replacement.
With all the above in mind, here at AJD, with one of only two of the latest and incredibly accurate high definition machines in the whole of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, we are also extremely pleased to offer 3D-wheel alignment and full vehicle geometry checks and where required adjustments.
