Sometimes the best part of travelling is simply finding a spot you don't want to leave. 🌍

Throwback Thursday to our Wales adventure! 🌊

We took loads of lovely photos on this trip… and then there are the ones that probably sum us up rather better. 😂

Everyone gathered around the truck, somebody searching for something, shoes apparently optional and the dog supervising proceedings.

It's easy to remember the amazing views and campsites, but half the fun of these trips is the laughs, chaos and little moments in between.

Definitely one for the Direct4x4 memory bank. 💚

Meet Mark – our General Manager and unofficial Team Dad. 👋
Every workplace needs a Mark.
He's the one checking everyone is OK when we're away at shows or out green laning, the one who'll get stuck into pretty much any job that needs doing — and quite often the one clearing up after the rest of us! 😂
Despite the title General Manager, you'll never find Mark standing on the sidelines simply telling everyone else what to do.
He's much more likely to roll up his sleeves and get involved.
Customer fitting query? Mark can help.
Brackets and stock orders with Heather? He's on it.
Day-to-day running of Direct4x4? Absolutely.
Washing up after we've cooked enough food to feed half a Land Rover show? Pass him the Marigolds. 🧤😂
His role means having an overview of pretty much every part of Direct4x4, but what probably sums Mark up best is that he wouldn't ask his team to do something he wouldn't be prepared to do himself.

When he isn't keeping all of us in check, Mark loves getting outdoors with his wife Emma — particularly trips to Scotland and Italy — along with a good wh**ky, F1 and, of course, Bella the cat, who appears to have appointed herself Assistant General Manager. 🐱

Mark also lives with MS, but he certainly doesn’t let it define his role within the team. He brings the same positivity, humour and willingness to get stuck in — whether that’s helping a customer, keeping us organised or joining us on an adventure. 💚
So that's Mark: General Manager, team dad, problem solver, chief washer-upper and a pretty important part of the Direct4x4 family.

Remember our slightly standard-looking Disco 4?

Well… she’s had a couple of upgrades. 😏

New side steps ✔️
New roof rack ✔️
And we're only just getting started…

We’ll be taking a closer look at both additions soon, but for now we thought she deserved a little moment in the spotlight. 🖤

The plan is to turn our Disco 4 into a proper Direct4x4 adventure setup, ready to get out there and put our gear to good use.

MEET THE TEAM — HEATHER 👋

Meet Heather, our Assistant Manager — although around here, she’s affectionately known as our Trev! 😄

One thing you should know about Heather? She LOVES a Land Rover Defender. 💚

So much so that we couldn't possibly choose just one photo for her Meet the Team! Here she is enjoying life beside the 110 on our Wales adventure — and, of course, behind the wheel of our much-loved Defender 90, Nora.

When Nora left us, let's just say Heather took it harder than most… 💔😂

But there's much more to Heather than her Defender obsession!

🔧 Heather heads up our Research & Development, spending plenty of time test-fitting side steps to all sorts of vehicles. That can mean adjusting, tweaking and altering brackets until everything fits exactly as it should — plenty of patience required!

☎️ She's also one of the friendly voices you'll hear at Direct4x4. Always chatty, always ready for a laugh and definitely one of the reasons our office is never too quiet!

Away from work, Heather loves spending time with her son Nathan, daughter-in-law Frankie and the rest of her family. She's also loves going on a cruise and particularly enjoyed exploring the beautiful Norwegian Fjords. 🚢🏔️

Next up, she's looking forward to joining us at The Great British Land Rover Show at Stoneleigh — although we're not entirely convinced she's going for work…

There might be a little bit of Defender shopping involved. 👀😂

Sometimes the most practical upgrades are the ones that make your car look better too. 👌

Take this MG HS EV.

Our Black Raptor Side Steps make getting in and out that little bit easier, but stand back and look at the whole vehicle and they do something else too…

🖤 They add a strong black detail along the lower body.
🖤 They complement the wheels and exterior trim.
🖤 And they give the MG a slightly more purposeful stance.

It's a good reminder that side steps aren't just something you fit to a rugged 4x4 — on the right vehicle, they can become part of the overall look.
