After finding the rear axle needed an overhaul on our Commer Bluebird, Tilly it was done jolly lovely! Thank you to for their support.

Little bit of a step back. After new rear brake shoes, and cylinders, there was oil in the Drum. Turns out someone loosened all the bolts to the axle and used silicon to try and seal it!
So; next stage, slide hammer the half shafts out and hope to God I can find the bearings and seals the go in the rear axle🤞 and then, of course, paint it and make it look pretty!

Tilly's all welded, treated and undersealed, except for the rear wheel arches and the underbody above the rear axle. So; get this bit done, and all her ugly is sorted! 👍

"Oi! Tilly! You've been quiet of late! What's going on?" - Just rebuilding, inside out her new Overdrive, gearbox and fitting new Universal Joints to the Propshaft. Be rude not to paint it too!

Next stage: Fit 'em! Don't have any gearbox mounts, so expect something weird to appear!

Sorry i've been quiet of late! It's been a lot of ordering bits, painting bits and fiddling. Getting the old engine restored and replacing the gearbox with a a J-Type Overdrive. One the engine starts to go back in I can bring you something more exciting! Hopefully!

I've tried to get 3 years of the welding and restoration into a short video, but it does drag on a bit, but, there was a lot to do!
Most of the welding is done by me, but not all.
