Crafting Clarity: Custom Windscreen for a Unique Jago Sandero Kit Car in Tees Valley!

Here at Tees Valley Windscreens & Van Locks Ltd, we love a challenge, especially when it involves a piece of automotive history!

This week, we had the pleasure of working on a truly unique vehicle: a Jago Sandero kit car.

A Glimpse into Jago Sandero Kit Car History:

For those unfamiliar, the Jago Sandero has a fascinating past. Originally conceived in 1971 by Geoff Jago and Richard Park as the 'Jago Geep,' it was one of Britain's pioneering kit cars. These rugged, Jeep-styled vehicles were often built on donor chassis, making each one a bespoke creation.

The 'Sandero' name itself later gained wider recognition when Geoff Jago licensed it to Renault for their Dacia brand – a testament to the original's impact!

Finding original parts for such a niche kit car can be incredibly difficult, and windscreens are no exception.

The Custom Solution:

Precision and Expertise for Kit Car Enthusiasts:

With no direct replacement windscreen available for this classic Jago Sandero, our expertise was truly put to the test. The solution? We meticulously cut a Land Rover Defender windscreen to fit the Jago's flat screen aperture. This isn't a job for the faint-hearted; it requires immense precision and skill to ensure a perfect, watertight seal and maintain structural integrity.

Crucially, we were able to perform this custom cut while preserving the original glass manufacturer's stamp on the Defender glass. This detail is important for authenticity and quality, ensuring the glass meets safety standards and retains its provenance.

This project perfectly showcases our commitment to providing solutions for all vehicles, from modern ADAS-equipped cars to rare kit cars and classics.

When off-the-shelf isn't an option, our technical skill and dedication ensure your vehicle gets the clear view it deserves. Do you have a kit car, classic car, or a unique vehicle in the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire that needs specialist glass work?

Don't hesitate to get in touch! We're here to help.

At Tees Valley Windscreens & Van Locks, we're not just about windscreens; we're your local experts for all things van conversion glass, ensuring a perfect, watertight, and safe installation every time.

Comprehensive Van Conversion Glass Services:

Whether you're starting from scratch or refining an existing project, we offer a complete solution:

•Supply & Fit: We can source and professionally install high-quality van conversion glass, including privacy windows, bonded windows, and custom cut-outs for a wide range of makes and models. We ensure the correct glass specifications and use industry-leading bonding agents for a secure and leak-free finish.

•Customer-Supplied Glass: Already have your conversion glass? No problem! We're happy to provide expert fitting services for your own supplied windows. Our technicians have the specialist tools and experience to ensure your glass is installed correctly, meeting all safety standards.

Save yourself future headaches and let us ensure your conversion is watertight and safe.

Our mobile service means we can often carry out these installations and repairs at your home or workshop across the Tees Valley region, including Middlesbrough, Stockton, Darlington, and Hartlepool, making the process as convenient as possible for you.

Don't compromise on safety or quality when it comes to your van conversion.

Trust the professionals to get it right the first time, or to fix it when DIY goes wrong.

Iveco Daily Aftermarket Lock Upgrade!

The Iveco Daily (1999-2014 model) is a true workhorse, a reliable partner for countless businesses across the Tees Valley.

But even the toughest vans need robust security to protect valuable tools and equipment from opportunistic thieves.

Today, we brought our expertise directly to the customer, fitting a comprehensive aftermarket lock upgrade to this 64-plate Iveco Daily right at their location.

Our mobile service means minimal downtime for your business and maximum convenience!

Strategic Lock Placement for Maximum Protection:

We don't just fit locks; we strategically place them for optimal security and ease of use:

•Side Loading Door (Low Position): For the side loading door, we installed a high-security aftermarket lock in a low position. This placement is crucial as it reinforces the door at its most vulnerable point, preventing 'peeling' or forcing the door open from the bottom edge.

•Rear Barn Doors (Mid Position): On the rear barn doors, we fitted locks in a mid position. This provides a strong central locking point, complementing the factory locking mechanisms and making it significantly harder for thieves to pry the doors apart.

These aftermarket locks act as a visible deterrent and provide an additional layer of physical security that factory locks often lack.

They are designed to withstand brute force attacks, giving the owner peace of mind that their livelihood is protected.

If you rely on your van for your business, don't wait until it's too late. Invest in proven aftermarket security solutions.

Contact us today for a free security assessment for your Iveco Daily or any commercial vehicle – we come to you!
