I only touched it, honest!
This boat in for blacking had a very small drip coming from the base of the rudder tube that goes up through the fuel tank. I thought I'd see where it was coming from and when I started to pick at an area of rust a jet of diesel shot into my face. I put my finger in the hole and had get one of the lads to come out to my rescue with containers!

Hey floaty folk, most of you know by now that I don't enjoy failing boats when I carry out Boat Safety Examinations. One of the things that often surprises me when I visit a boat is the state of some of the LPG flexible hoses which everyone looks at on a fairly regular basis. take a look at a few photos taken not just on our canal but on the G&S canal and more. This is a small selection of quite a portfolio. If you have hoses looking like this they obviously need replacing. Try to find someone competent (gas safe) to change these before I visit. Failing that, I can help out as a sperate job. As most of you know I've been Gas Safe registered for boats for 30yrs and can help out on any LPG problems that crop up during an examination (if you wish) which means you don't have to spend time finding someone.

It's all been rather busy since going on holiday. So much for a relaxed return! One thing though, every day is never the same and the last few weeks has certainly been varied. Going out to boats with starter motor problems, alternator issues, faulty ovens, diesel stove full of water not diesel, non working solar charging, battery replacement, gas leaks, Boat Safety examinations, flooded engine bays and of course things at the workshop. I do like a bit of variety so feel free to keep calling if you have any problems.

Hey floaty folk, just letting you know that I'm running away for a break from tomorrow to the 13th. This means I won't be around for breakdowns next week. The treatment rooms will be open as normal though, with my motley crew doing things when the coffee mugs are empty.
