The Mini Cooper has a platform which is very easy to work with when it comes to replacing the complete engine. The complete front can be disassembled to make for an easy engine removal and installation. This particular example has overheated and the headgasket wasn't sealing properly anymore. In most cases it is cheaper to buy a 2nd hand engine than to try and rectify the headgasket issue. This is also the perfect opportunity to do all the preventative maintenace on the car to make sure the engine will last a long time without further spendings down the line.
