Not all Japanese used cars are the same quality. The difference often comes down to one number on the auction sheet — the grade.

Grade 4 is the minimum standard we source at MHH Japanese Cars. Here is what that actually means.

An independent inspector — not the seller, not the auction house — physically examines the vehicle before it enters the auction. They assess the exterior condition and assign a grade. Grade 4 means: good condition, with only minor cosmetic marks consistent with normal use. No structural issues. No undisclosed mechanical problems.

Grade 3.5 and below means more significant marks or potential paintwork requirements. Grade R means structural repair following accident damage. We do not source either.

When we say Grade 4, the inspector agreed — and we translate that report into English so you can verify it yourself.
