1927 Austin 12/4 Clifton Tourer

£9,950

https://www.rsvintage.co.uk/for-sale

The Austin Twelve is a motor car introduced by Austin in 1921. It was the second of Herbert Austin’s post World War I models and was in many ways a scaled-down version of his Austin Twenty. The slower-than-expected sales of the Twenty brought about this divergence from his intended one-model policy. The Twelve was announced at the beginning of November 1921 after Austin’s company had been in receivership for six months. The number twelve refers to its fiscal horse power rather than its brake horsepower which was 20 and later 27.

This Austin 12/4 Clifton Tourer was first registered on the 19th December 1927 in Bournemouth, and more recently was part of a small collection in Berkshire.

The engine is in fine fettle, it has good oil pressure and a new 12V battery. It starts and runs well, and there is no frost damage.

The drivetrain is in good order, the gate change gearbox is as always direct and the clutch smooth. It handles very well and bombs along nicely.

The bodywork is very solid which includes the ash frame. The car is an older restoration, it polishes up well but is far from immaculate.

The interior is very nice and matches the colour of the paintwork, there are no rips or tears and remains in good condition. The roof is water tight and comes complete with side screens and a tonneau cover.

We do have a small history file, which includes the current V5.

Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.

We are happy to consider part exchange. Nationwide delivery available.

This weekend we were flying the Marshall flag again 🇬🇧

We’ve not exhibited at the Edenbridge and Oxted show before, and if you’ve not been before it’s well worth a visit.

Very much a county show feel on a large scale with a good selection of vintage thrown in too! 🍻

1932 Wolseley Hornet with Swallow body

£9,500

https://www.rsvintage.co.uk/for-sale

The name Wolseley Hornet refers to two distinct British vehicles: a light six-cylinder car produced from 1930 to 1936, and a luxury badge-engineered variant of the classic Mini built by the British Motor Corporation from 1961 to 1969.

This Wolseley Hornet is rather unusual as it is fitted with a Swallow body from new, the car was first registered on the 27th July 1932 in Liverpool.

If you like character, patina and oily rag vehicles, you will love this car. The 6 cylinder engine is up and running and sounds great with good oil pressure.

The car has been stood a while and will need a degree of recommissioning, especially to the brakes. We have driven it on the hand brake and can confirm the clutch and gears work well.

The Swallow body is very much as found, it appears to be in good shape and has a great look about it, the interior has been retrimmed to a high standard and the hood is new which includes, new side screens.

Overall this is a fantastic oily rag vehicle that only requires a small amount of TLC, to get back on her feet. We do have some spares to help with this, as well as history and paperwork including the current V5.

1937 Austin 10 Cambridge

The Austin 10 Cambridge is a popular pre-war four-door family saloon produced by Austin from 1937 to 1947. It featured an 1125cc four-cylinder side-valve engine, a four-speed manual gearbox, and a top speed of around 60 mph, serving as a cornerstone of British motoring in the 1930s.

This Austin 10 was first registered on the 13th May 1937 in Brighton and more recently has spent a number of years in Devon.

The engine runs very sweet and is fitted with a new 12V battery. There is no frost damage and it starts and runs well.

There are no nasty noises from the drivetrain and the car bombs along nicely. It’s certainly not a racing car but it does do everything it’s meant to.

The bodywork is very solid, there is no corrosion to the underside and it is not covered in thick underseal hiding sin! The paintwork has been finished to a high standard and although not immaculate it does shine and present well.

The interior is very original and in lovely order, there are no rips or tears to the seats and it comes complete with its original “smokers hatch”.

Until recently the car has been part of a large collection, we do have the current V5 but further paperwork is minimal.

Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.

They don’t come with much more character or patina than this!

We think this is lovely and not only is the Wolseley Hornet a fairly rare car anyway, this one is fitted with a Swallow body!
