EVENT CANCELLED - update..

Dear All, really sorry that Autofest Cranfield has been cancelled. It is heartbreaking, esp as Willen Hospice will now not get the funds from us that they need and deserve. The weather forecast was too much of a concern, esp forecast lightning. The outcome of a potential lightning strike was too much of a responsibility. Also, with predicted rainfall of 60mm in an hour would completely ruin the pitch with vehicles leaving deep ruts. It also was only fair to give ample notice to our food vendors before they purchased large amounts of stock for the event. Any show that I have attended in only slight rain is massively affected by uncertain weather - most fancy car/bike/truck/van enthusiasts spend hours getting their beloved machines spig and span and simply wont come out. A vehicle show with only 10 vehicles in attendance is no fun at all. I am considering a re-shedule possibly at the end of August but need a new venue as once the football season starts the Cranfield site is not available. I will update as soon as I have any news. Sorry again. I will gently weep into my beer tomorrow afternoon instead. No doubt the predicted weather will miss us and I will be mortally embarassed and regret the decision for eternity! Can’t win em all. We shall see.
