1. Don't Buy Too Cheap (The "Middle Ground") ⚖️
Look for "Remanufactured" or reliable names for parts.
These are used alternators that have been fixed up like new. They save you a lot of money compared to brand new, but they are much safer than the absolute cheapest part you can find like ones off ebay.

As this customer did not understand and got the cheapest option of ebay that was classed as a new unit but was just a cleaned up old unit that got fitted by a different garage and only lasted a mouth before coming to us to fitted a name brand Alternator with warranty.

the Wet Belt replacement.

What is the Wet Belt and Why is it Important?

The "wet belt" is actually the timing belt that runs inside the engine's oil sump. It's designed to be constantly lubricated by engine oil.

Problem: Over time and mileage, this belt can degrade, especially if the incorrect oil is used or if oil change intervals are missed.

The Risk: A failed wet belt can lead to catastrophic engine failure—a much more expensive repair than a timely belt replacement. Seriously, this can write off your engine!
