Hello all!
We are closing from tomorrow for the rest of the year!(Friday 19th) and will be back at work on Monday 5th 2026

As you can see, we’ve worked hard… (I’ve just caught this employee having a nap on the job!)

Another day, another Eco boost Cambelt completed ✅

The infamous 1.0 Eco boost engine has been fitted to many Ford models with an estimated 1.6 million produced!

Although they have bad publicity as being a troublesome engine, 💥 we’ve actually found them to be ultra strong and reliable, being able to take a lot of abuse!

That being said, when they do fail (mainly due to improper preventative maintenance or servicing) you can face a bill of ££££’s for a new engine and ancillaries. 💰

✅Our general wet belt change starts from £850

✅We only ever supply genuine Ford parts (including oil and filter)

✅Extremely fast turn around (1 day)

✅All work undertaken to the highest standard

✅Fully guaranteed and warrantied with our own warranty and Ford’s

Here is a list of what is changed on a basic wet belt change:

-Oil pump drive belt
-Oil filter
-Ford/Castrol oil 5L 5W20 Magnatec
-Coolant elbow and “O-Ring”
-Diamond friction washer
-Crankshaft bolt
-Water pump and gasket
-Timing Belt (Wet belt)
-Tensioner
-Crankshaft seal
-Rocker cover gasket
-Sealer
-Coolant 50/50 mix
-Various other gaskets and “o-rings” where needed

Unlike most garages, we only use genuine parts, and we fit A LOT more than your standard fast fit centre

A lot of rot cut out and a lot of weld put back in.

But the pictures speak for themselves

It’s very rare in this trade when doing mechanical work, that we can stand back and admire our hard effort, for example a cambelt or a service.

Welding work is much more rewarding. To see how it started and where we are is very fulfilling.

Where it started vs where it is now.

From the back of an old Land Rand rover pick up truck with a cantilever tool box…

…To a transit with a full tool box

…To an employee to help me out

…To a workshop with no ramps…

…To a workshop with 2 ramps and a Mustang on it.

6 years later we’re still going, we’re still investing and improving and we’re still going from strength to strength.

It’s been a long, slow process, we’ve bled and we’ve cried… BUT… we’re building and we’re improving every day. Our aims are still the same- to provide a professional and reliable service for a great cost.

I’ve made a lot of friends doing this, and lost a few too 🙏

But we’ve never lost focus of our values.
We’re not the cheapest, but we try to be the best!

Back on the tools after a couple weeks off! 💤

Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🥳

First job to kick off 2025:

1.0 ecoboost cambelt 🚗 one of my favourite jobs!

Customer wanted their “wet belt” changing as a precaution after seeing so many horror stories about these engines blowing up. 💥

I think we caught this one just in time. It gave ZERO problems running and driving. No oil pressure lights or loss of brakes- the most common symptoms of a failing wet belt

As you can see the belt was severely deteriorated and the strainer had started to fill with belt debris ❌

We ONLY supply and fit Genuine Ford parts for this job- including oil and filter ✔️

Not the cheapest job, however to protect your investment and save yourself thousands on a new engine (and time off the road) it’s well worth doing. 💸

Full list of parts fitted to this job:
-Cambelt
-Oil pump belt
-Water pump
-Oil pump
-Rocker cover gasket
-Fresh coolant
-Crank pulley bolt
-Crank pulley diamond friction washer
-Various “o” rings and gaskets (anything removed is replaced with its genuine counterpart)
-Oil filter
-Ford spec oil

From basic servicing and cambelts up to full Headgasket jobs requiring engine removal!

Some recent ones:

Range Rover Sport in for front cambelt, service and rear High Pressure Fuel Pump belt (nasty job!)

Ford Kuga in for Headgasket replacement (requiring full engine removal)

Land Rover Defender fitted with a BMW M57 engine, needed a new engine

And a Fiesta diesel in for a full set of injectors

If you have an Eco-boost engine and you’re not too sure about the cambelt history of your vehicle maybe now is the time to make a small investment.

❌ These engines are well renowned for their unreliable Wetbelt timing system, which causes catastrophic engine damage, normally costing thousands to repair 💥

❌ Most garages will shy away from this job or over quote you.

✅Here at L.T Motors we are experts on these engines, with all of the proper timing tools, using only upgraded genuine Ford parts (using a different material belt for longevity and peace of mind)

(Sort of) Nicer and dryer weather means we can start working outside again!

The ramps in the unit are all occupied so we carried on like champions this morning!

This is Ryan’s M57 converted Land Rover (3.0L BMW engine)

We’ve been looking after this one for a couple of years now, it really is a lovely motor and his pride & joy!

He’s had a bit of wait to get to this stage but he prefers us to do all of his work because he knows that we strive to be the best at what we do.

It’s a wrap! 🎁 🎄 🥳 We’re officially closed now from today until Tuesday 2nd January It’s been a long yet successful year...
