We had one very lucky customer today after experiencing a sudden tyre blowout while travelling on the M6. The vehicle suffered an immediate loss of tyre integrity, leaving the tyre completely destroyed and well past its serviceable condition. Fortunately, the driver managed to maintain control and bring the vehicle safely to a stop without further incident.

Tyre blowouts at motorway speeds are extremely dangerous, often caused by underlying tyre weakness, under‑inflation, impact damage, or general deterioration. In this case, the tyre had clearly seen better days, and the failure could have resulted in a far more serious situation.

We’ve now replaced the damaged tyre and carried out a safety inspection to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy once again.

If you ever notice unusual vibrations, cracking, bulging, or excessive wear on your tyres, it’s always best to get them checked sooner rather than later — motorway blowouts rarely give any warning.
