🚨 NEW MOT RULES & CHANGES FOR 2026! 🚨

There have been a few changes to the MOT system this year, and we thought we’d give our customers a quick heads-up. 👇

📸 Photos at MOT tests – DVSA is rolling out a new system allowing testers to take and upload a photo of the vehicle during the MOT. This is being introduced across testing stations in phases.

🔧 Stricter MOT standards & oversight – DVSA has tightened the rules around MOT testers and testing stations to improve consistency and crack down on fraudulent or poor-quality testing.

⚡ Changes for certain electric vans – Some zero-emission goods vehicles between 3,501kg and 4,250kg are now included in Class 7 MOT testing.

❗ But don’t panic!
There has been NO change to the normal MOT frequency for cars – your first MOT is still due after 3 years, followed by an MOT every year.
