Small shop update.
Yellow turbo nearly finished pre engine install work.
Replacement pas pipes and fittings. Replaced front brake hardlines.
Cleaned and painted bay as it was 3 different colours.
Doesn't look much but 3 weekends into this so far.
Black V8 wiring gearbox repaired wideband sensor fitted and plumbed into ecu. Pps steering solenoid wired in so steering works.

Rad hoses fitted etc.
Pats monster jz car.
Prepping for engine removal got front body panels to pull off and wiring to pull and it will be ready to come out.
Rhys red supra awaiting steel to rebuild the rotisserie then its back on its side.
Oh and we had to tarp the back end of the roof as the badgers managed to snap the guttering from next door.

P.s engine build for zac will be back under way very shortly.
Busy busy not enough hours in the weekend.

Even with a full shop and a long waiting list. We dug deep with true Christmas spirit to help a fellow supra owner out.

Another garage has messed the car up.

Delivered less its aux belt and idler set up no rad hoses even the rad cap and petrol cap missing .

Wiring left half connected oh an it now doesn't start or even turn over.

Well 3hrs later it now turns over( most of the time) and starts.

Cause of non starting. Wiring mistakes, we supplied a standalone harness to run the pump. Just needed a switched supply to relay.

(30amp fuse swapped for 10amp that blew)

The "new" fuel pump was seized. So swapped in a 7mgte one as a temp measure.

Tank back in place. Wiring connected confirmed fuel flowing. And boooom a 1uz with manifolds only burst into life.

Lots to do but more progress than others in 6 months.

Low miles (41k) turbo auto.
In for full service and cambelt plus oil seals etc.

Had various oil leaks from front of engine and cam covers.
List of issues(mistakes) grew the more we dig into it.
Normal factory cam cover bolts loose. As in finger tight due to aging of washers and seals.
The centre gallery plugs finger tight also.
Various bolts either loose or hanging in by a thread or 2 on cam belt covers.
Red goo on thermostat housing along again wasn't tight.
The rear face of crank pulley was dripping in oil (definitely not torqued to factory spec.) We found the mother load of red goo. No wonder it was leaking.. more goo this time black all around front cam caps.
Gets better as torque for caps is only 20mn they were at least double that.
Same for cam belt pulleys ( 49mn)and oil pump gear bolt (22mn).
Cam belt tensioner bolt needed a impact to release it. Definitely over tightened( 49mn).

Thankfully all now fixed along with new oil seals New belt etc. Plus fresh oil and filters. Reseal of the centre plates retaining bolts to stop any oil seepage.
new stainless bolts with spring washers etc on cam covers to stop them loosening and leaking again.
On a plus note the underside was very clean with only minor surface rust on the suspension etc. Both front and rear discs shields in near perfect condition even.

Oh the thermostat was failed too, Luckily in the open position.
Upon restart it was showing 40psi at 1k rpm and around 50 at 2.5k. On the factory gauge

Visit to sunny Shoeburyness this morning. To get to the bottom of the jza80 TT slow turning over/non-starting.

Well found a brand new starter fitted( we took a rebuilt with us).
Removed coil packs and plugs to check bores as when we attempted to turn the engine by hand it wouldn't move clockwise but would slowly anticlockwise.
Hmm.
Tried on starter with no plugs and extremely slow causing extreme current draw from battery.
So before removing the starter we pulled the auxiliary belt off just in case.
And bingo she turned freely.
It seems the alternator had seized solid. Even with a 3ft bar it refused to move.
We also replaced 3 coil pack plugs that had degraded over time with the engines heat cycles.
So after confirming she would start and run. ( no clip as without belt turning the water pump didnt want to run for more than a few seconds).
So next visit will be a new alternator along with a belt as it's badly damaged the belt along with oil and filter change.
Then it can be checked over for Mot and further recommission work.
Another supra on the way to being on the road.

Quick clip of the defi display.
It's nice will see where it ends up being fitted and how it works on the road in due course.
Had 70 psi of oil pressure after initial start earlier today. And 25psi at idle. So happy with those figures.
