2021 vauxhall movano
I got into this one half way through. My colleague had fitted an adblue injector and had the DPF cleaned as the injector had decided to go full open and drown everything in adblue. After this, it set a Nox sensor 2 learning code, which dealer bulletin says change the sensor. This had no effect ๐คฆ
I hit the Opus IVS EU/RoW hotline and the master tech (Boris, he's amazing!) showed me the service bay inducement test. I tried it, and fifteen minutes in it blew burning adblue everywhere ๐คฎ you can see the results as nox 2 hit 3000ppm!
So we have an obvious excess of adblue ๐ค back on the ramp I ran an adblue injector leak test and checked the pressure from the tank. All ok โ
Wired a resistance box in to simulate the injector and scoped the pattern, was a really good waveform. This was in service bay inducement again as these can take 30 miles to induce after resets ๐
What then happened solved a lot. Scr conversion without injecting adblue, a healthy 60% until adblue dissipated ๐คฏ
So what actually happened? Lots. The learning DTC comes from when resets done for dpf/scr cleaning and when nox sensor 2 came online it was reading a ppm much higher than it wanted to see. Why? It seems a lot of residual adblue left in the scr had to burn off to achieve the readings the pcm wanted to see.
Covered all bases, fitted a new thermostat to raise all temperatures for better inducement. Online software update (opus again, they're so good!) as if failed service bay test on catalyst temperature (known issue). Lots of road testing got it inducing and all EOBD monitors set ๐
