🔧 Recovered from Bournemouth – Back Up & Running

This customer had their vehicle recovered all the way up from Bournemouth after it became a non-starter.

Following a diagnostic check, we quickly confirmed that a valve had dropped in the engine, resulting in engine failure.

The customer supplied a replacement second-hand engine, which we fitted along with:
• New timing belt & water pump
• All new fluids
• All necessary resets carried out

🔧 Ford Transit Custom – Engine Rebuild

This Ford Transit Custom was recovered into the workshop as a non-starter.

After carrying out our initial inspections and testing, we found several major issues:
• Turbo shaft snapped
• Faults present across all four injectors
• Compression down to just 100 PSI across all four cylinders

With the extent of the issues confirmed, this one is now in with us for a full engine rebuild to get it back up and running properly. 🔧

A valued customer’s Ford Ranger was in our workshop last week for a rear brake conversion, upgrading from the factory drum brakes to a DBA rear disc brake setup.

This was a challenging installation, but we’re proud to have completed it successfully. As far as we’re aware, we’ve been told we’re the first company in the UK to fit this particular DBA brake conversion to a Ford Ranger.

The improvement in braking performance is outstanding, delivering a noticeable increase in braking efficiency and overall feel.

While the vehicle was in the workshop, we also replaced the DPF-back exhaust system with a side-exit exhaust, giving it a great finishing touch.

A fantastic upgrade all round, and another happy customer! 👌

We’re always looking for ways to invest back into our business and provide even more value for our customers. That’s why we’ve recently added diesel and petrol fuel system cleaning to our workshop services.

Of course, we had to put it to the test on our own mobile service van first—and the results spoke for themselves. Fuel economy improved from 32 MPG to 46 MPG. A fantastic improvement!

The process is simple: we temporarily connect your vehicle to our specialist cleaning machine, which acts as the fuel supply for approximately 40 minutes. It circulates a professional cleaning solution through the fuel system, helping to remove deposits from the fuel pump and injectors, promoting smoother performance and improved efficiency.

This service will now be available as an optional extra when your vehicle comes in for a service.

Please note: As this service requires specialist workshop equipment, it is only available at our West Mersea workshop and cannot be carried out during our mobile service visits.

Available for both diesel and petrol vehicles.

A nice local job with this stunning Ford Ranger Raptor, in with us for a timing belt replacement and gearbox service.

On inspection, the timing belt was still in good condition, showing only some minor surface cracking with no signs of delamination.

We also carried out a full gearbox service along with the latest TCM software update. The combination of fresh gearbox oil and the updated transmission calibration makes a noticeable difference to the way these vehicles drive, delivering smoother gear changes and improved overall performance.

Another successful visit to Basildon for a major service on this Ford Ranger.

This Citroën Dispatch came into the workshop with a knocking noise coming from the rear.

After carrying out a full inspection, we found that the upper rear spring bushes on both sides were worn, preventing the springs from seating correctly.

Both spring bushes were replaced and the unwanted noise has now been completely resolved. Another happy customer back on the road! 👨‍🔧🚐
