After much thought and reflection, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to cease trading and close Simple Van Hire as of 18th November 2025 or thereabouts.

As the owner and proprietor, I take full responsibility for many of the challenges that have led to this point. Running this business has been one of the hardest yet most rewarding journeys of my life. Unfortunately, a combination of vehicle thefts, unpaid customer accounts, and external pressures including council costs, Dart Charge, and Transport for London fees have made it impossible to continue operating sustainably.

When I started this business, my dream was simple: to build something meaningful for my family after a really tough and depressing period in previous employment, and to change our fortunes for the better.

Simon Squibb, you gave me the drive and determination to succeed. I aspired to be like you — to find purpose, to achieve financial security, and to help others less fortunate. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

To all my customers, supporters, and friends, thank you. Your trust, encouragement, and loyalty have meant more than I can express. Though this chapter is closing, I will always be grateful for every opportunity, lesson, and connection along the way and believe me, I will return stronger than ever!

🚨 VEHICLE RECOVERED 🚨

Thank you everyone that shared and helped relocate the van.

It was recovered in a quiet street in Black Notley with a broken key barrel so the van can’t be turned over and recovery will move it.
