Covering all of Cumbria, we provide a number of services to car owners. If you lose your keys we can arrive at your car, unlock the car, decode the lock, cut a new key, and programme the key to your car allowing you to get back on the road as soon as possible. If you've locked your keys in the car we can unlock the car and retrieve your keys for you. If you just need a spare key, we can come to yo

u and cut and programme the key on site. If your key has broken in the lock we can remove the broken key and cut and programme a new one for you. If your lock has been damaged we can gain access to the car and remove the broken lock and replace it (this will mean that all of the other locks in the car will need to be replaced, or you will need separate keys!)

ADDITIONAL VAN SECURITY DEADLOCKS AND SLAM LOCKS FITTED ON-SITE, ANYWHERE IN CUMBRIA.

The housings and plugs are plated in highly durable satin nickel to maintain a consistent and long lasting appearance. External trims are available as either UV stabilised black Nylon, or satin nickel-plated brass. Brackets are finished in textured powder coat to prevent corrosion.

Locks available for cab, side, and rear doors. Several different options available:

Slam locks will lock instantly when you shut the door, meaning you don't have to worry about locking the door if making multiple drops/deliveries, or just want the ease of mind of knowing that the van is now securely locked.

Deadlocks operate independently from the manufacturer locks, offering the chance to use the additional security over-night or in high risk areas.

Hykee style Ford Transit replacement locks are an excellent, highly secure replacement for the standard manufacturer fitted Transit Mk7 locks. The original locks have been found to be very vulnerable to break-ins. These replacement locks will provide a much needed security upgrade!

Had a call from the Furness General Hospital last night. A gentleman had pulled up outside the emergency department, in the "Definitely NoParking" zone, to pick someone up. Left the engine on, and nipped inside. The door to his Hyundai slammed shut.
Locked!
With the engine running!
In the absolute worst place to be parked!
It took me ages to get down there through all the road works in the Lakes right now.
But got the door open in 2 minutes anyway, so all good.
Then a bloody long drive through the Lake District roadworks again!
I love this job, but the roadworks are the one thing that put a downer on it!
Gotta be done I suppose!

Job in Center Parcs, near Penrith today. A couple had a weekend there and lost the keys to their Alfa Romeo Giulietta. A replacement key from the dealers would cost around £330, and they'd have to get the car transported to the dealership in Newcastle to get the new key programmed in. And maybe a week to wait. Ridiculous dealer prices.

Glad I could help and get them back on the road home, with A LOT more money in their wallet!

Just got back from a job in Rosthwaite. A guy had been out walking over to Great Crag and came round a bend, and the wind hit him and blew him off the path and over the edge. He fell a fair way but managed to grab onto something on the way down. His rucksack came off though, and fell the 600ft down into the valley, along with his phone and car keys! He’d done 2 tours in Afghanistan, and experienced some hairy situations, so was able to pull himself together pretty quickly, and tried to find the rucksack, but it was just gone (hopefully someone will find it eventually, and contact him when they get the phone charged up!)

The lovely people at the in Rosthwaite managed to find him a room and let him use the phone so he could sort things out.

He found me on my website and I was able to go out and create a new car key for him, so he could at least get his things out of the car and drive home, after a pretty messy day!

I’ve been out to a couple of jobs where people have come off the tops and lost their rucksack on the way down, so maybe worth thinking about backup in case the worst happens! And not just extreme ones like this!

I was called out to a campsite in the Langdales in the Lake District yesterday. A guy and his daughter on a camping trip. They’d arrived at the site early afternoon, and then gone off for a walk, with the intention of setting the tent up when they got back. But he got back to the site to discover he’d lost his keys while out walking. They tried to find the keys, but eventually gave up and returned to the site. They had everything in the car! Tried to find accommodation somewhere, with no luck, and had to sleep in the shower block on the site!
They called me the next morning and I was able to create a new key for them there and then. They decided they were going home, as the daughter had had enough of “camping”. If you need a vehicle locksmith here in Cumbria, call me on 07527 571115

Another fantastic weekend in the Lake District. Lovely weather and a great atmosphere around Keswick :) This is an early morning shot taken from the newly re-opened A591, on the way out of Keswick (taken on my rubbish phone camera) The drive along the A591 past Thirlmere has got to be one of the best in the country. Unfortunately not too many spots to stop and take a photo, so you have to come up here and experience it yourself.
