Christmas is fast approaching us. For many, it’s exciting, memorable and wholesome. It’s the lights twinkling, the excitement of Christmas Eve, the sound of laughter, the smell of Christmas dinner, and little ones waking up with that indescribable feeling of magic in the air rushing to get stuck in about the wrapping paper🎁❤️
But for some, Christmas isn’t like that.
For some children, it’s just another day.
Another morning waking up without breakfast never mind presents to open. Another day without the excitement, the surprises or the feeling of being a child who has something to look forward to.
Not because they haven’t been good enough or they are “on the naughty list” and certainly not because they don’t deserve it. But because their families are facing circumstances that no child should ever have to understand.
And the heartbreaking reality? Some children have never experienced that Christmas magic at all🥺
THERE ARE CHILDREN IN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES WHO HEAR THEIR STOMACHS RUMBLE BEFORE THEY EVER HEAR THE JINGLE BELLS!!
Across Scotland, far too many children are growing up in households struggling to afford the basics , from adequate heating and fresh food to warm winter clothing. For these families, Christmas can bring more pressure, more worry and more heartache, rather than the joy we so often take for granted and become an extreme mental health battle for parents.
And that’s where we want to try and make a difference. ❤️

We aren’t expecting to change the world overnight. We know we can’t reach every child.
