I don't usually work Friday afternoons, but today was definitely worth it! 🥳🏆💪

A huge congratulations to this happy chappy, Ben Harris, who only went and 'Passed with Carly' on his first attempt at Loughborough DTC with just one tiny driver fault! 🥳🚗💨✅

Now, Ben is a great driver, but he won't mind me saying that confidence and self-belief were things he sometimes struggled with. His original test was booked for a month ago, but after discussing his readiness, we agreed that postponing it by a few weeks would give us more time to build his confidence and help him become a more independent and defensive driver 💪.

A special mention also goes to Ben's mum, who put in a fantastic effort by giving up her time (and car!) to help him get plenty of practice in. 👏🚗💨

Ben, you've been a brilliant co-pilot, and I'll miss our chats about music and Maccy's! 🎸🍟😂

Great job by this superstar, Harry Dakin, who whilst shy for a photo 😉, only went and 'Passed with Carly' this morning on his 1st attempt at Loughborough DTC with just 1 teeny driver fault 🥳🏆💪.

Harry I would say is a natural when it comes to driving. His dedication and commitment to his weekly lessons the last few months along with private practice with a very dedicated mum and dad is to be commended 👏.

The examiner described his observations and mirror checks as 'exemplary' and should be an example to others to stay safe behind the wheel for life.

Harry you've been a great co-pilot and I'll miss our chats putting the world to rights 😂.

So pleased for this little lady, Sophia Carver-Harris who only went and 'Passed with Carly' this afternoon at Hinckley DTC with just 3 driver faults 🥳🏆💪.

Sophia only came to me at the end of March having failed her 1st test in L'boro earlier in the year. She was unfortunate on that occassion, but openly said she didn't feel fully ready and unconfident with her manoeuvres.

Over the course of 10 hours the mission was to re-cap her manoeuvres and work on her independent driving until more confident and test ready 💪.

Even though her test was at a different centre today this was no issue for Sophia as she confidently smashed the town and rural roads along with the 'Reverse Bay Park' that she previously used to to dread 👊🚗🅿️

Big shout out to dad too for the private practice. It all helped to achieve that pink licence today 😊👏.

Sophia you've been a great co-pilot and I wish you all the best in your studies 😊. Enjoy your freedom in your Fiat 500 and make sure to give me and Swifty a wave when you see us around 👋🚗💨

It's a fab Friday for this champ, Elliott Birch who only went and 'Passed with Carly' this morning at Hinckley DTC on the 1st attempt 🥳🏆💪.

Elliott smashed his route incurring just one 'tiny' driving fault for having to readjust during his reverse bay park manoeuvre but was described by the examiner as an 'excellent' drive 🙌🚗💨.

Elliott has shown real dedication to his lessons over the last few months and has put in hours of practice with his mum to perfect his driving skills to become the ace driver he is 😜👌.

Check out the grin on this happy chappy as Lalit Kumar only went and 'Passed with Carly' this afternoon at Hinckley DTC 🥳🤩👏

Lalit took his test in his own car (well his wife Wella's 😉) and the examiner said it was a near perfect drive with only 1 'teeny tiny' fault 🤩👌.

When Lalit started lessons, he was already a pretty good driver having had a few lessons previously with another instructor and experience riding his motorbike 🏍💨. A few lessons working on forward planning to navigate the roads (particularly fast tricky roundabouts 🙈😂) safely and independently was all that was needed to obtain that pink licence today 💪🙌

Lalit you've been a pleasure to teach and a great co-pilot 😊. Enjoy being able to taxi the family around and give me and Swifty a wave when you see us around 👋🚗💨

The smile says it all as Lucy Bassett only went and 'Passed with Carly' this sunny morning at Hinckley DTC 🥳🤩🙌😎.

Lucy I would say is a natural when it comes to driving and her confidence is usually high. That said this morning her nerves were at their peak and that confidence was tested. Learners try all sorts to help pre-test so for Lucy a banana for brekkie and carrying her 'Lucky Cornish Pixie' mascot on board for good luck hopefully helped to get that result today 💪🍀.

Lucy is also the 2nd Bassett sister to 'Pass with Carly' following sister Esmae's successful pass in Dec 2024 so mum and dad can now look forward to no longer having to play taxi 🚕👋. Big shout out to them too as they dedicated lots of private practice time with Lucy in her own car to help achieve todays result 👏🫶.

It's a great week for Family Willoughby as Finn 'Passed with Carly and friends' this morning on the 1st attempt at Loughborough DTC with his sister Isla only having passed last Friday 🥳🤩🙌.

Now I can't take all the credit for Finn's success today. He has been on and off with lessons the last couple of years but having started lessons in my old faithful car 'Minty' then found the transition into 'Swifty' a little tricky due to it's sensitive controls. That didn't hinder his progression though as he decided to continue with practice with family and friends in his flash BMW which he took to test today and rightfully earned that pink licence 🚗💨. Great team effort all round 👏💪.

Finn you've been a character and a great co-pilot 😜. How can 2 siblings be so different 🤣.

Well Isla Willoughby certainly got that 'Friday Feeling' today as she only went and 'Passed with Carly' this morning at Loughborough DTC 🥳🤩🙌.

Now Isla won't mind me saying that this was her 2nd attempt following a fail a couple of weeks ago after her pesky nerves and anxiety played a part with a lack of judgement with her observations moving out of a horrid stop junction at Cotes (if you know you know 🙄).

Having got to know Isla pretty well over the months and her tendency to overthink and strive for perfection, I was concerned that this failure would have knocked her confidence and she would feel reluctant to give it another go. Fortunately it seemed to have the opposite effect as she felt that test attempt made her feel more confident in her driving ability and determined than ever to find a cancellation (still not sure how she managed to find one so soon given the current test situation 🙃) 💪

Isla you've been an amazing pupil and a great co-pilot. I hope you enjoy dragging your dad around car shopping this weekend 🤣😜.

Huge congratulations to Grace Hassell who only went and 'Passed with Carly' this morning at Loughborough DTC on the 1st attempt 🥳🤩🙌.

This amazing result was achieved by weekly lessons and private practice with a dedicated mum 💪🚗💨. Maybe the 2 bananas consumed beforehand also helped 🍌🍌🤷‍♀️🤣.

It's not all been plain sailing though as at times I felt I had more confidence in Grace's ability than she did. A little nudge needed to get her theory test done (which she passed 1st time also 😉👏) along with convincing her that an earlier test date than originally booked was a good idea as she was more than ready💡😊.

Hardwork, dedication and teamwork is how I would describe this little superstar, Isla Bottrill who only went and 'Passed with Carly' this morning at Loughborough DTC on the 1st attempt 🥳🤩💪🙌.

Now Isla won't mind me saying that her journey hasn't always been easy. A lack of self belief and confidence has led to tears and frustration at times, particularly in the early days and when learning manoeuvres.

The amazing result today was all down to her perseverance and commitment by taking weekly lessons and also doing lots of private practice in Fiona the Fiat 500, with mum and neighbour to help build that confidence 👏.

Isla you've been a great co-pilot and I'll miss our chats 😊. You also hold the award for making me ugly cry when carrying out a parallel/reverse park because it was so good 😭😂.
