Brian James A4 transporter in recently for new brake shoes and a few bits of hardware, adjusters and expanders. Unfortunately due to the excessive wear too it also needed new brake drums. All replaced and back on the road again.

While there we picked up some merchandise and freebies.

Cattle trailer in recently for some repairs. Operator was complaining about “the banging noise when braking”. New brake shoes fitted, new Knott coupling fitted as replacing individual parts in the coupling wasn’t cost effective, new U bolts as the old ones were tired looking and new bolts fitted to spring eyes as the old ones had a flat spot on them and worn out.

We recently had this VW Polo in Belfast that had a wheel cylinder leaking. The brake lining had also come off the brake shoes and the drum was worn and saturated in brake fluid so we had to replace all of the above to ensure the job was done correctly.

Recently had a Citroen Dispatch in for a coolant leak, initially the thought was that the coolant pipe was leaking but on closer inspection found that the EGR cooler was leaking. We will get the van back to have it replaced. Also in was an Insignia to have a service and check over for MOT.

A cattle trailer that we had in recently for some repairs, this had been laid up for a while and linings had come away from the brake shoes. The bump stops were missing and U bolts were loose, so all were replaced. Livestock had eaten some of the wiring, where required this was repaired or replaced with some new lights replaced. 2 new tyres completed the service and to top it off we offered a complimentary wash using J-Tech Chemicals washing products. A fairly fresh (less than 5 year old) ifor Williams trailer that we carried out an inspection on recently. The owner didn’t think there would be much wrong because of the age of the trailer but this among other minor things were found.
