Congratulations to Chris Pearson on completing the SSDT in a very credible 41st position!

Chris rode his 25 EM FACTOR-e that’s done the last 2 seasons of national trials including the Scott Trial as a privateer.

Batteries changed at the same fuel stops as the petrol bikes as they refilled, with a comfortable margin still remaining on majority of changes.

The EM ran faultlessly for the full 6 days which is a credit to Chris’s preparation and the quality and reliability of his EM FACTOR-e.

Chris’s words; “I really enjoyed my week, I’ve had some amazing rides and a few shocking ones! The weather was glorious, I’m even slightly sun burnt.

The sections suited the bike very well, and I can honestly say I feel like I had an advantage.

Mechanicals, I had a fork oil seal leak on Wednesday. I turned the rear tyre Tuesday night and fitted a new one Thursday night. I feel the bike grips better so you get less wear from spinning on the rocks.
I pulled the rear tyre off Friday so a huge thanks to Dan, Joe and Harry for helping me get it back on quickly!

A massive thanks to the Army refuelling squad! Inch Perfect for the batteries and all the other support! The club for putting on another excellent event, all the observers, marshals, the Scorpa team, Spivey’s and finally Steph for putting up with me the last two weeks!”

Saturday saw the start of a double header weekend for the 2026 ACU British Sidecar Championship. 🏆

▪️Neil & Mike Franks again take on the expert class on their Factor-E and on the Epure Race we welcomed the newly formed partnership of 16 year old Luke Batten with 15 year old Billy Guildford. Friends Luke and Billy are both accomplished solo riders from the Surry Schoolboy Club who saw the potential to have some fun together, and with limited practice and one event they entered the British Championship double header weekend.



▪️Saturday’s venue at Hook Woods Trial Centre was overcast, wet and tough.

Neil & Mike were going well over some seriously challenging sections when the rear wheel caught a root and damaged the rear spokes. They limped on to grab a 3rd overall finish.🥉

▪️Luke & Billy quickly became the spectators’ favourites with their ‘never say die’ efforts over some typical Hook Woods terrain and finished a creditable 6th place in the Clubman class.🙌🏻



▪️The Normandy Club Sunday’s event was held at a very wet Dunsfold. Neil & Mike picked up some good grip with the Factor-E on the clay base and without any wheel issues to hold them back finished 2nd overall, great start to the season.🥈

▪️Luke & Billy threw themselves at the second day, applying what they had learned at Hook Woods, lots of communications through the section, taking tactical dabs where necessary. Their effort was rewarded with an amazing, well deserved podium and 3rd place overall. Judging by the round of applause at the final section from spectators and riders we could have the future stars of sidecar trials.🥉
