Who loves a pop-up headlight? The fourth-gen Chevvy Corvette, launched in 1984, is a classic implementation. Although quite a normal car in the States, they were never sold here, lending this big coupé an air of mystery in the UK.

One of the best little details are the pop-ups, which face completely backwards when off, and spin up into position.

The C4 Corvette has received a new alternator. In this video, watch along as we fit the new power cable:

🔹️ Snip the new power cable to length and strip the insulation from the end;
🔹️ Slide on a length of shrink wrap:
🔹️ Fit a ring terminal onto the bare wire and crimp both sides securely;
🔹️ Slide heat shrink into place and heat so it fits snugly over the interface;
🔹️ Grease the threads on the alternator's connecting block, fit a spring washer and hand-tighten the new bolt;
🔹️ Replace the perished conduit, matching the length and diameter of existing wires;
🔹️ Plug in the signal wire that tells the alternator when to deliver charge to the battery.

The 911 project is continuing to take shape. Sometimes it's sensible to repair a panel, but on other occasions, where new parts are available, it's more sensible to replace it. Here, we've deployed both approaches to suit the conditions.

How do you find an air conditioning system leak among a range of crusty, grubby potential failure points? Addition of UV sensitive dye to the refrigerant is the key! Any leaks shine brightly under a UV light, allowing the culprit to be spotted.

We thought we’d share some recent progress on the 911 Cabrio.

How do you make a forty year old car, with all its grime and dust, cast off this testament to the years to look almost new underneath? Dry ice blasting offers an intriguing option, although you do need some specialist equipment.
