Not all Range Rovers have the same story…

This L322 5.0 V8 Autobiography wears a desirable VX-prefix registration – a registration series that is often associated by enthusiasts with Land Rover’s own fleet of factory vehicles, including development, engineering, management and press demonstrators. A bit of appreciation for this Discovery 4.

I bought it as a stop-gap car while we waited for our new car to arrive, fully expecting it to be a temporary solution. To be honest, I’ve been quite critical of Discovery 4s in the past, mainly because of their reputation for reliability issues and because I could never seem to get comfortable driving them.

Looking back, I think part of that was down to family life at the time. When the kids were in child seats, I always sat closer to the steering wheel to give them more room, and I never really found a driving position that suited me.

Fast forward to now, the kids are older, I’ve finally found a comfortable seating position, and I’ve discovered what so many owners have always loved about these cars. It’s comfortable, capable, practical, and genuinely enjoyable to drive.

What was supposed to be a temporary stop-gap has ended up proving me wrong. In fact, we’ve enjoyed it so much that we’ve decided to keep it for the time being. The biggest surprise? We actually find ourselves using it more than our new car.

Sometimes the cars you least expect end up being the ones you appreciate the most. 👌

One thing I never take for granted with my job is the opportunity to drive some incredible Defenders — I know how lucky I am to experience them daily.
But somehow, it’s always the older originals that get me excited the most.
The ones with a bit of rust, worn interiors, dents, noise and years of stories built into them. The patina, the character, the feeling that every mark has earned its place. They’re far from perfect, but that’s exactly why I love them.
Pure character every single mile. 🛻
There’s also something strangely therapeutic about an old petrol engine with a manual choke. No jumping in, pressing a button and rushing off. You actually have to slow down for a minute — pull the choke out, listen to the idle settle, let it warm through properly and feel the engine come to life. It’s all part of the experience.

Modern cars are better in almost every measurable way… but they’ll never replace the character and connection you get from an old Defender. Pure therapy on four wheels. 🚙.

After a very serious board meeting we’ve made a bold business decision…

We are officially no longer selling Land Rover Defenders.

From today, we are proud to announce that we will be focusing exclusively on… Jeep Wranglers.

Yes, you read that right. Doors that come off, roofs that disappear, and a whole new personality crisis for us all.

We know this may come as a shock. Some of us are still processing it.

But don’t worry — we’ll still be offering:
✔️ Oil leaks
✔️ Sporadic faults
✔️ The overwhelming urge to wave at strangers

Thank you for your continued support during this difficult transition.
