If you've got a Yamaha XTZ 700 Tenere and are looking to upgrade the standard shock, check out this piece of kit from Ohlins.
The new AR-X 40 is their next generation shock, designed specifically for adventure bikes. They're currently available for the standard 2019-2025 Tenere 700, the 2019-2024 Rally Edition, the 2023-2024 Extreme Edition and the 2022-2024 World Raid. We're sure that they will be available for more bikes in the coming months.
They feature a 40mm internal piston and their TTX twin-tube design. Adjustable for compression and rebound damping, with easily accessible adjusters and remote hydraulic preload adjustment. The preload adjuster has 20mm of range, with a 50mm range of seat height adjustment.
The high speed blow-off valve gives additional damping control over a wide range of forces, providing a more comfortable and compliant ride on road and improved performance when the going gets tough off road.
They are available with multiple different spring rates to suit a wide range of rider weights.
If you're after the latest and greatest and the best of the best, look no further.
This Stark Varg owner obviously decided that the standard suspension setup on the his bike wasn't up to the job of controling 80bhp of electric madness!

We've teamed up with ZCOO (pronounced Zico) by D.I.D and are now distributing their impressive range of EX and EXC brake pads.
After some back-to-back testing with our own race bikes, we can tell you first hand that these are comparable in terms of outright performance and longevity compared to the Brembo Z04 and SBS DS1/2 equivalents but they are a lot cheaper!

We sell a lot of high quality aftermarket parts here but there's just something about Brembo products. As they say, it's the 'Beauty of Outstanding Performance' and doesn't this little lot look beautiful?!
This KTM Superduke owner went all in with a 19x20 CNC brake master cylinder, a 16x18 CNC clutch master cylinder, T-Drive discs, GP4-RX front calipers and a P2 CNC rear caliper.
We've had the pleasure of upgrading the suspension on a Yamaha XTZ 700 Tenere and Honda's new XL 750 Transalp this week.
The ever popular Tenere 700 had an Ohlins NIX 30 fork cartridge kit and an Ohlins STX 46 Adventure shock absorber.
The Transalp had a Nitron R3 shock absorber, with remote hydraulic preload adjustment.
A massive improvement over the standard cheap and cheerful suspension on both bikes, as you'd expect! 😎
We've sold a lot of bits and pieces for the Tenere since they were launched and have lots of different options from YSS, K-Tech, Nitron & Ohlins to suit different budgets.

We've now got a great selection of complete forks from K-Tech, Ohlins, Nitron and YSS.
They're all beautifully made and finished, with top end, high performance internals, perfect for that one-off race or custom bike build - just look at them!
From today onwards, they are no longer offering their R2 mono shocks as they look to simplify their range.
The R2 have been replaced by the R3 and the great news is that on most fitments, the R3 are actually cheaper than the R2, which is a welcome change. You're getting more shock for less money, what a result!
For example, an R2 shock for a 2023 Yamaha MT-09 was £872.40 but an R3 shock (which has independent high and low speed compression adjustment, rather than single speed on the R2) is now £834.00.
They're still offering their R1, Race Pro and Adv mono shocks, R1 and R3 twin shocks and their TVT fork cartridge kits, with the TVT kits reducing in price too! 😊
Brook Suspension is looking for a competent, fastidious and organised mechanic to offer their services at BSB and we would also consider this as part of a full time role at our expanding premises in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Ideally the candidate would have experience as an actual race mechanic and have raced themselves but we wouldn't turn down a good candidate who is enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Typical responsibilities would include:
Wheel changes
Fork spring changes
Shock spring changes
Fork height changes
Shock length changes
Tyre warmers on/off and probing temps
Downloading data (no data acquisition knowledge needed)
Wheel changes
Its really not that difficult, training would be provided where necessary! David rarely crashes so over and above that, just a bit of screen polishing and generally making the bike look shiny!
Its a paid role, an actual job which is negotiable depending on experience and capacity and therefore you are required to be punctual, professional and reliable. You would sleep in our 12 ton race truck and be fed and watered.

We use an industrial hard chroming process that is much thicker and a lot more durable than the chrome plating used on OEM stanchions.
