Returning customer, Mr C, brought his lovely 2020 crafter in. Initially we fitted a full 12v and 240v system in this partially built van. He provided an inverter and split charger. We discussed the needs from the system and he opted to upgrade to the Victron DC-DC 12v charger alongside the Victron solar controller initially booked for. This allows the future upgrade to Lithium, a more financially viable stepping stone. On visit 2, we installed the AutoTerm 4kw heating system with comfort controller. Added switches to the, now installed cabinet, for garage lighting and power outlet for the Joolca Hot Tap deluxe system they have.

Mr C will be returning for the EHU relocation to the Grille badge and awning lighting in a week.

Miss B asked us to revamp her van. It was already a camper with pop top, but inside was less than adequate. A home built project by a previous owner, using 9mm ply and limited storage.
We had already tweaked it last year by refreshing the worktops and adding a sink/hob combo and proper power managment. Also solar.
This time, it was all out.
We gutted the interior completely, except the lining.
Replaced the lino floor with brighter, hard wearing Altro from Harrison's Trim Supplies. Super service from these folks, they are our go-to for carpet lining and flooring supplies.
We installed an all new cabinet system with red trim, new Vitrifrigo compressor fridge, new Dometic sink/hob combo and external water inlet. A mild rewire and relocation of the power management system was needed due to the new layout.
We even changed out the power hookup from under the bonnet to behind the gille badge.
We also added a Fogstar 300ah lithium battery and charger, coupled to a Victron DC-DC charger.
A new RnR bed was also installed as the old one was too wide for the new system. We had this trimmed to match the front seats and compliment the red trim of the cabinets.
To top it off, we added a Fiamma F45s awning, mounted to the, already installed, Vamoose rail.

Turned out fantastic. 💪😎🤙

Today's job is complete..... and another reccomendation from Rayne Automotive . Mr G came in for a solar install on this pre-built short wheel base T5. Initially the customer wanted just solar. After a conversation about the type of use the camper will have, he decided on our Fogstar lithium upgrade. This job created some decent challenges. Upgrading a pre-built van limits the ability to hide so much of the wiring, so bus bars were used, along with trunking and cable mounts, in a very confined space. There is a positive to this, as the bus bars allow for easy expansion to the 12v system, should the user decide to add to its capabilities.

This camper utilises a Sargent power management system that does not accomodate lithium charging. This is easily overcome by disconnecting the charger in the unit and installing a Fogstar 30A charger that automatically comes on when on hook up. Cheaper than sending the unit off for upgrade and produces 3x the amperage of an upgrade.

We installed a Victron Dc-Dc charger (Split charger), a Victron solar controller and a Victron 215w rigid solar panel....... yes we can fit a 215w to a shortie! Most fit a 175w or less, and this panel filled the roof!
We use only Scanstrut for our external cable managment. They literally are the best on the market. Marine grade and amazing quality, guaranteed to seal, regardless of the environmental challenges put to them.

We relocated the battery from the rear upper storage, to the rear lower. Swapped it out for the, super reliable, Fogstar 300AH Drift.... 10 year warranty on this awesome battery. Weighs pretty much the same as 110ah Lead acid.... packs 3x the punch!!!!! This is our go-to battery of choice. We can even fit these under the drivers seat. I didn't on this vehicle as it has the OE VW cd changer option installed.

The solar panel was producing 120w at 4pm on a sunny day. That's a decent yield so late in the day.

Freshly completed this morning, another T4 Calypso.
Mr. F needed an inverter for off grid events and weekends. We installed a Victron 800w inverter next to the battery, raised off the floor to protect it in the event of a water leak. We placed a remote switch on the wall for ease of operation too.
The customer also complained of flickering lights. A corroded and loose connection was found on the main habitation power cables. We replaced the cables from the battery to the habitation plug, and also replaced the plug with a far more reliable Anderson connector.

Mr H had a daunting issue of timing belt tensioner failure on his T4 2.5 TD. With the correct checks and careful diagnosis, we managed to help save this van from a very expensive repair. This is one very lucky, and very happy customer. New timing belts and water pump. Advised to buy a lottery ticket, on which they did...... and won £30. 🤙💪🤙💪🤙💪🤙

Sept 2024. We had 2 of these lovely T4 Calypso coach built vans in. Mr & Mrs C and their Mums van. This is Mums....
We supplied and fitted Victron solar 215w, Victron controller and split chargers, Victron 500w inverter and Fogstar 300AH lithium.
This van had 2 lead acid leasure batteries, totalling 180AH. The Fogstar is lighter, charges faster and holds 13v far far longer than the lead acid. Perfect upgrade.

It was a pleasure to upgrade these lovely vans with a more usable system with more power stability and confidence. 👌

Back in May 24 Mr. C came to us to convert his van to a camper. The customer had already insulated and carpet lined the van. He provided the cabinets and floor rails. We provided the electrics, lithium and Autoterm heating. The floor rails were a huge challenge as the van had been a workhorse for years, with that, it wasn't flat.

Final result is a tidy and usable van for fishing and camping. 👌

Ronogy 200w flexi panel, Victron controller and ScanStrut entry gland. We love these ScanStrut components. The quality is outstanding and fully guaranteed, marine grade. No water is getting past these.
