Time for a new timing belt and water pump for this Renault traffic. Replacement interval for this engine is 5 years or 90000 miles, this van had a genuine belt and water pump fitted so it’s probably never been changed.

2013 Vauxhall corsa had a rattle upon acceleration and this car had been to a couple of garages that had misdiagnosed this rattle as the inlet manifold faulty and also the water pump faulty. Turns out the chain tensioner spring had lost its ‘twang’ and caused the guide to break causing the chain to rattle about.

New timing belt, water pump and camshaft pulley as one of the camshaft position pickups was damaged🤦🏽‍♂️
