Last week we had this VW Transporter in for a new gearbox and flywheel replacement. The customer was complaining of severe juddering when pulling away. Taking an oil sample told us everything we needed to know. The oil was dirty and had a burnt smell about it. The lack of servicing had taken its toll. A new gearbox supplied by our local Poole TPS centre and the problem was solved. An expensive problem for the customer. Make sure you always get these DSG gearboxes serviced at the correct intervals.

Last week in the workshop we saw another ACC not active fault. This vehicle had been nudged and the ACC Radar was knocked from its bracket.
The sensor was re-fitted and then the radar was calibrated using our Autel rig and diagnostic equipment.

This Audi A3 Cabriolet is in with us at the moment, customer complaint her roof is not working.
The customer had also noticed that one of the rear electric windows was not working as well.
Carrying out a diagnostic assessment we were able to locate the fault to the o/s/f door loom. Broken wires in the loom were preventing the window from working. All windows on cabriolet vehicles need the windows to drop slightly in order that the roof works.
Parts were ordered from our local TPS Poole branch to carry out the repair.

This MK7 Golf was in with us last week, customer complaint-water ingress in boot area, spare wheel hole filled with water and rear bench seat getting damp.
This is becoming quite a common problem now, behind the rear bumper vents are fitted, designed to release cabin pressure when the doors are shut. Over time the seals on the vents fail and water is allowed to enter and fill up the boot area.
Here at AAR we replace the vents and silicone seal them to the body, dry out the boot area and water test.
If your noticing any water in your boot area get in touch with us before it becomes a bigger problem.
We have seen quite a lot this year already with the amount of rainfall we have had.

Having the right tools for the job is very important in our industry.
This 7 speed DSG gearbox was supplied too us by a former vehicle technician, he had very kindly removed the gearbox and wanted us to replace the clutch pack and set up the tolerances.
Using these tools we are able to set up and replace the clutch packs on VAG Group vehicles using this dry clutch system.

Here at AAR we would like to congratulate Dylan on passing his EV Level 4 high voltage training. The journey has been long but worth it in the end.
He completed his training with Tech-topics the best training provider in the country.
Charging points are being installed here at work ready to receive EV vehicles into the workshop.
Many might feel that EV is not the answer, I for one agree with that statement, but as a company we must prepare for the future.
As sales of these vehicles increase year by year, diesel sales are dropping fast.
For those of you that do not know Dylan he is the handsome young man with the beard.

This 2021 Skoda Octavia had oil pressure issues, customer would drive vehicle for a long distance and then the red oil pressure warning light would activate.
The fault displayed was for reduced oil pressure switch.
Carrying out a Diagnostic Assessment we were able to locate the fault to poor oil pressure from the oil pump.
Changing the part for a new modified pump from VW TPS Poole, the problem was sorted.
Never ignore red warning signs especially when it concerns oil pressure.

Last week we had this Mk7 Golf in with us for an Adas fault. Customer complaint was front assist not available displayed on instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control not working.
After a road test the fault was confirmed.
The radar sensor located just below the front bumper required re-calibration.
Using our Autel Adas rig we were able to re-calibrate the sensor and fix the fault.
Customer complaint now repaired and adaptive cruise control confirmed as working again after road test.
We are now able to offer Adas calibrations to a wide selection of vehicles.

Its been a busy start to the New Year so far, and here at AAR we have started to see a few more of these ADAS faults come into the workshop. Usually it starts off as a minor knock in the car park, which in turn makes the radar sensor come adrift from its housing.
Carefully re-fitting the radar is not enough as it now will require an ADAS calibration. The dash panel warning will normally display ACC not available or ACC deactivated.

So finally after many months we now have a finished reception area to be proud of.
It has taken a lot of hours to get the results we wanted, but in the end it has been worth it.
The reception area is now twice the size it was before with a modern fresh clean feel to it.
The final parts will be here soon.
