Mobile diamond cut alloy wheel repair for Audi alloys.

Are you looking for mobile alloy wheel repair? Today we’re restoring three Audi Rotor diamond cut alloy wheels at a customer’s home, saving them the hassle of visiting a garage.

These wheels have suffered heavy kerb damage, and two of them have been previously smart repaired. While smart repairs can improve the appearance temporarily, they don’t recreate the original diamond cut finish. Our specialist mobile lathe allows us to remove the previous repairs and restore the wheels to a high-quality OEM-style finish.

• Remove tyre shine, road grime and any surface contamination
• Sand and key the repaired area ready for paint
• Clean the wheel using both water-based and solvent-based degreasers
• Eliminate dust, residue and anything that could affect the final finish

The difference between a decent alloy wheel repair and one that really stands out? It comes down to the small stuff.

You don’t get a proper finish with a quick once-over. It takes time, a bit of patience, and knowing what you’re doing.

Here’s what actually happens:

• Start with rougher sandpaper to take out the damage
• Gradually move to finer grades to smooth everything out
• Keep checking the surface by eye and by feel for any tiny flaws
• Clean it up properly and prep it before paint and lacquer go on

Running your finger around the edge usually tells you more than just looking at it. If you can feel anything at all, it’s not ready yet.

This one’s now smooth all the way round and ready for paint, which makes all the difference to how it turns out in the end.
