Swaps. I have a set off Gaz gold 13inch short looking to swap for a new set of 14inch body long shocks new or might consider a good set of Bilstein Tarmac spec or even sell them but as they have only been test fitted they won't be much below retail. I have various lengh and poundage springs I will chuck in. Anyone interested? £1100 ono delivered

The splash shield on both sides had previously been welded prior to my ownership 35mm in tighter than it should be.

Ideally I should of removed and replace the panel in the correct location, then connect the cage in the more traditional way by drilling into top the tub face.

Because of it's location this wasn't possible and as the panel is in good order with no rush I cut into the panel, and here we are.

I still have to cut a hole out to access the lower part of the cage joint so Baz can weld it.

More updates to come but what's your thoughts ?

On the to do list for today is to connect the cage up to the front shock towers . I fitted the inner wing strut top gusset last night. Intenion is fabricate and connect to that. Looks like i can slice through the side of the splash shield panel rarther than going dierectly through the inner wing into a hole or big cut out.

Anyone got any pictures? Pics on build threads and socials are limited as generally it's a pic with the wings on or just what you see with the door open..

I appriciate diffefent brands, fabricators do it differently and cage possition matters too.

Inside a 46 year old mk2 es**rt chassis. Obviously cleaned out but no acids used or blasting .

What do you think?

Had the car 22 years and was was oiled by one of the previous owners .

🥊👊🏽🏋‍♀️👊🏽🥊 GRP4 bulkhead plate from Evans & Son Rally Spares. Still a bit more work to do but it's getting there. Mounts all tacked up and strut plates too but will let Baz weld up the in ya face bits so it looks bang on.
