FOR SALE: Vortz Racing Morris Mini Cooper S MK 3 1970 finished in Blaze with Gold Magnesium Wheels. This stunning car was built by Vortz and registered as a Morris Mini Cooper S. One of only two cars built by Vortz outside of the standard production range.
Nick Vrotsos, a legend in the Mini world, founded VORTZ RACING CARS in 1965 and continued to build and perfect his cottage industry for over 20 years.
The true Mini enthusiast may well have heard of this innovative engineering genius who never ceased to be obsessed with perfection. His dedication and eye for detail are so legendary that he is known as the ‘engineering maverick’ as portrayed in the book, ’The Wild Card’ .
What many may not realise is that following a dispute over the ownership of the Cooper brand name in 1990, Vortz was ostracised and seen as climbing on the larger and more well established Rover bandwagon when in fact history shows us that the opposite is true. Rover was in fact the imitator. Overseas, the die hard enthusiast from way back knew different and the demand for the original Vortz continued to increase abroad.
This Stunning Super Rare Genuine Vortz Cooper S was eventually sold to the registrar of the Cooper S Club who showed this stunning example at events and the History file contains photos of this car with the legendary John Cooper and Jack Daniels who was Issigonis' right hand man. Later, the car was sold to the last owner and campaigned in some competitive stage events. The Uprated engine breathes through 1 1/4 inch SUs, and has been fitted with 123 Electronic Ignition. Rally equipped with Halda Twin Speedmaster, and twin stopwatches, Lucas Fog Lamps plus much more.
Supplied with comprehensive history file containing original handbook, photos , invoices for upgrades and maintenance and the Wild Card special edition book which contains reference to this special car.
Presented today in Exceptional Condition with perfect panel fit. Very quick car that drives impeccably.

FOR SALE: Morris Mini Cooper S MK3 1971 Glacier White with Navy Trim.

This extraordinary example was purchased by Steve Burkinshaw in 2006. He was the Treasurer of the Cooper Register. He then carried out a painstaking complete nut and bolt restoration on this Cooper S to virtually ‘as new’ condition.

The only deviations from the production line are the Dunlop D1s, Alloy Wheels, the Moto Lita steering wheel, the fact that it’s been converted to dry suspension and the engine capacity was increased to 1310cc when rebuilt (all thoroughly documented in the accompanying rebuild paperwork).

A comprehensive article was featured in Mini World magazine describing it as ’the definitive Mk3 S’.

In 2011, the car was sold to the last owner who meticulously kept and maintained this Cooper S. During this time the car covered only 3,000 miles.

With 56,272 warranted miles, and comprehensive historical documentation going back to the early '70’s, this car really has great heritage.

This Cooper S is a UK supplied right hand drive car. There were only 792 of these manufactured.

Supplied with a comprehensive history file containing documentation going back to the ‘70s, including the aforementioned Mini World magazine article and invoices for servicing and maintenance for recent years.

The condition that this car is in today is a testament to the quality of the restoration that was carried out over ten years ago.

This Cooper S is in impeccable condition in every department, is very quick, and drives faultlessly.

Really needs to be viewed to understand its exceptionally extraordinary condition.

FOR SALE: NSU WANKEL SPIDER 1965 HARD AND SOFT TOPS. RHD. With the launch of the Ewald Praxl-designed Prinz in 1957, NSU had re-established itself as a car manufacturer in its own right after a break of 28 years. Only a few years later, the German firm would stun the motoring world when it introduced the first rotary-engined production car: the Wankel Spider. Launched in 1963, the Spider was the first motoring application of Dr Wankel's rotary 'piston' concept, which used a rotor with three convex sides rotating eccentrically in a figure-of-eight-shaped chamber. Its first application was as a compressor or supercharger, the first actual engine being tested in 1957. This new power unit went into a roadster version of the Bertone-styled Sport-Prinz. Sadly, Wankel's concept was ahead of the available technology, and the engine was bedevilled by rotor tip sealing problems. Subsequent developments by Mazda would see these largely overcome, and the latest tip-seal technology has been incorporated into this car's engine. Modern improvements mean that rotary engines are now regularly running for 100,000 miles. In three years of production, NSU sold somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 Wankel Spiders, and survivors are relatively rare today.

This stunning rare example was supplied new in the UK in 1965 and this actual car was featured in Motor Magazine dated 22nd May, 1965. This article includes photos with the car wearing the same reg number as today, a road test and report. Purchased by the last owner in 1980 from marque specialists RoTechniks of Grazely, he then commissioned a last nut and bolt restoration and conversion to RHD. This work took several years to complete. RoTechniks carried out the mechanics. The body and paintwork was carried out by Nigel Cooper Restorations. In 2006 the engine was sent to Dr M Fabritius in Germany for a complete rebuild at a cost of £4500. The huge comprehensive history file contains Invoices totalling £76,000 and correspondence for works carried out, a copy of Motor Magazine from 1965, The Original green logbook showing NSU Great Britain of Curzon St W1 as the first owner, the original factory repair manual, Original Handbook, Original Tools, spare Keys etc. This super rare car has factory hard and soft tops, is in fantastic condition and drives suberbly. For sale for less than half the restoration costs.
