Very sad and feeling rather disrespected to see local independent driving instructors being belittled today.

We have all built our businesses from the ground up so we don’t need to put others down.

We all have different businesses and different ways of doing things but that doesnt mean that one way is better than the other.

So im asking all of my learners past and present, family and friends to share this post and get some positivity out there.

See you all out "On The Road" 💪🚗

🚨 What should a LEARNER do if an emergency vehicle comes up behind them? 🚑🚒🚓

Over the last couple of weeks on lessons we seem to have come across alot of situations where we have been approached by some sort of emergency vehicle.

It's one of the most stressful moments for any learner driver - Blue lights flashing in your mirrors, sirens blaring.... But what should a learner do if they come across one of these situations?

✅ SAFE ACTION TO TAKE:

1. Stay Calm - Don't panic. Take a breath.

2. Check Surroundings - Check your mirrors and scan the area for a safe and legal place to pull over on the LEFT.

3. Stop Safely - Come to a controlled stop where there is adequate space and let them pass.

❌ WHAT NOT TO DO:

DO NOT: Break the law to help. Never jump a red light, If you are at the front of a queue at a red light, STAY PUT. Emergency drivers are trained to find a way around stationary traffic.

DO NOT: Drive in a bus lane, or mount the pavement just to let them past.

DO NOT stop in a dangerous spot. Avoid the brow of a hill, a tight bend, or a very narrow road where you could block them even more.

The golden rule: STAY CALM.

🤬 "Mock Tests" Should NOT be an expensive Add On 🤬

I noticed this morning that a National Driving School was looking to charge over £60 for a 1 hour mock test 😲

In my opinion, this is something your instructor should be doing as part of your preparation in the run up to test and this should be included in the price and lesson you have on a weekly basis.

A proper mock test should NOT be an expensive add-on.

A mock test should be:

✅ Done under test conditions or as close to as possible
✅ Cover the roads from possible test routes and cover the manoeuvres you might get
✅ Followed by a proper debrief at the end so you know exactly what to work on
✅ Built into your lessons when you're at test standard

This is how I have always done it and how I will continue to do it. No extra charge, just part of making sure you are fully ready for the big day.

If you're paying for lessons, you should NOT have to pay extra to find out if you're ready for your test 💪🚗
