A special thank you to the Olde House for letting us use their car park, to friends, family and partners who grafted with us and all the fellow driving instructors who came along for a car wash, we really appreciate the support.

We will reveal how much we raised once Ashgate Hospice have verified 🤩

💷 Suggested donation: £5 per car wash

Rural roads demand respect. 🌳

The scenery is beautiful and driving through the countryside is wonderful, but country lanes can catch drivers out.

Narrow carriageways, blind bends, no pavements, working farm vehicles, cyclists, horses with nowhere to pull in – they need a different kind of attention to a dual carriageway or a town centre.

A few things worth remembering:

✔️ Slow down. Speed limits are a maximum, not a target. On a narrow lane with a tractor around the next bend, that really matters.

✔️ Give way to large vehicles. Tractors, combine harvesters, livestock lorries – they're working. Be patient, leave plenty of space and never try to squeeze past if it isn't safe.

✔️ Watch for pedestrians, horses and cyclists. On rural roads there's often no pavement and no cycle lane. Always slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.

✔️ Respect the signs. Fords, steep gradients, hairpin bends – the signage exists because the hazard is real. If you're not sure what a sign means, check the Highway Code.

Are You REALLY Test Ready? 🤔🚗

It's one of the most common questions driving instructors get.

The easiest way to find out? Ask yourself this...

Does your instructor, parent or supervising driver still:

❎️ Tell you when to change gear?
❎ ️Remind you to check your mirrors? 👀
❎ ️Tell you when it's safe to pull away?
❎ ️Explain road signs?
❎ ️Remind you of the speed limit?
❎️ Tell you to slow down or stop?
❎️ Help you correct your reverse manoeuvres?
❎️ Guide you through spiral roundabouts?
❎️ Help you merge onto dual carriageways?
❎️ Talk you through difficult junctions?
❎️ Help you with the sat nav?
❎️ Step in to keep you or others safe?...the list could go on!

If you answered yes to any of these, you're probably not fully ready yet.

Remember, the driving test isn't about being perfect. But it is a risk assessment about proving you can drive safely and make safe decisions independently without any HELP.

Passing by the smallest margin might get you a licence, but would you genuinely feel confident driving on your own the very next day?

Good afternoon everyone hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather.

Not been very active recently on the page due to being extremely busy the past few weeks. Just an update that I go on holiday on the 7th August for 2 weeks. Any enquiries I receive during that time I will reply to when I am back 🙂
