✈️ HOLIDAYS ARE COMING 🏖️

Hello everyone 👋

Tony here 😊

Yay 🙌 it’s that time of year when the car keys are tucked away in the drawer for 2 weeks and boy do I need a break 😮‍💨
Some rest & relaxation, a few cocktails 🍹 here and there and the odd KEO 🇨🇾🍺 (if you know you know 🥴)
Whilst I’m not working I won’t be replying to enquiries/messages etc but will get back to you all on my return!
I am back doing lessons from week commencing 19th October 🚙💨
Thanks for reading and I will see you all soon 😎

The DVSA have made a small concession about two learners swapping a car driving test..

Comes into affect 1st October and makes it a bit easier.
If you’re using a driving instructor to prepare you for a test, it’s a good idea to run any date changes past them first for if they’ve tests already or are not available. Then you face having to use 1 of your 2 permitted swaps to fix it.

Booking your driving test? 🚙

Head to gov.uk/guidance/driving-test-appointments-release-dates-and-finding-earlier-tests to find out when driving test appointments are released, when to search for earlier tests, and how long people wait to take the test….

⚠️Anyone learning with me please be advised that before booking a driving test you must always liaise with me first‼️

Curious about what happens during a driving test? Here's what to expect on test day.

An eyesight check 👀
You'll read a number plate from 20 metres away or 20.5 metres if it's an old-style plate.

'Show me, tell me' vehicle safety questions 💭
You'll answer 2 questions about vehicle safety. The 'tell me' question comes before you start driving and the 'show me' question while you're on the move.

General driving ability ✅
You'll drive on a variety of roads, but not on motorways, including 20 to 35 minutes of independent driving, following either a sat nav, traffic signs, or both.

Reversing your vehicle 🚙
You'll be asked to do one of the following: parallel park, park in a bay, or pull up on the right and reverse 2 car lengths. Your examiner will let you know which one.

Knowing what's coming can make test day feel a lot less daunting 😮‍💨🙏

🚙 Driving Test PA55 🚙

Friday, 11 September 2026

Yay Emme you did it 🙌

Passing her driving test this afternoon at Durham test centre FIRST TIME of asking with ONLY 4 minor faults recorded 👌
A competent drive via Neville’s cross lights 🚦into the city centre after executing her pull up on the right manoeuvre 👏
This is no more than you deserve young lady.. You’ve been an absolute ⭐️ throughout and your hard graft these last few weeks has definitely paid off 😮‍💨
On a personal level this one is a bit of a special one for me as I used to work with Emme’s grandma “Mrs T” and I can remember when she was born 🙈 (yep I’m feeling canny old) 🥴🤣
I’m so pleased I was given the opportunity to coach her through this Life Skill 🙏
Enjoy your new found freedom and independence Emme and enjoy your Vauxhall Adam..
Thanks for choosing me Tony at Chester le Street Driver Training Training and good luck with everything moving forward 🍀
Give me a big wave if you see me around 👋👋
Ps (It’s Taxi 🚖 time for you now) 🤭🤣
