Michael Dennett Boat Builders is a family run business and has been established at Laleham Reach, Chertsey for 26 years with father and son and together they have over 50 years of experience in building and restoring Traditional Wooden Boats from skiffs, slipper launches, star crafts to Dunkirk Little Ships. At Michael Dennett Boat Builders we are dedicated in the needs of our clients whether that

maybe getting the vessel ready for slipping, winter storage, or a complete makeover. We care for you as much as we care for you boats. We also use traditional methods along side using some more modern techniques and materials to get your Vessel to the high standard we deliver. We have many facilities and services on offer:

MISS GOODNIGHT: Combining Tradition with Modern Practicality 🤝🏼✨ You may have seen us do something similar on Verity (also a Edwardian Beavertail Launch) where we converted the old engine box into a champagne cooler.

Miss Goodnight’s (soon to be Evensong again) owner has also changed their old engine for an electric one, giving us the opportunity & space for another creative solution. This “engine box” is going to double up as drinks storage and a table… because you need somewhere to set your champagne glass down after you’ve poured it!🍾

We’re hoping you can see Steve’s vision from this video but if not, stay tuned to see our progress & finished result. Cheers!🥂

We’re not going to let a torrential downpour stop us from getting boats back in the water 😏⛈️ Dunkirk Little Ship Aquabelle was in-and-out for a quick leak fix! And Lucy Ann has had a brand new stem successfully put on (full video on our page) and a lovely new paint job. Hopefully she gets to shine in some sunshine soon!🤞🏼

BUSY BUSY BUSY 🐝 We thought after the usual Spring-Rush and Dunkirk anniversary repair & restoration madness we’d have quietened down by now but on the contrary… it’s just an ever revolving door of boats around here!🥵 With so much going on we figured we’d do a boat yard round-up to show you some of the beautiful boats we have the privilege of working on at the moment 📝 Let us know if any of these boats in particular peak your interest and we’ll get the works on film for you!🎬

We are incredibly proud and honoured to have restored RFC113 back to her original specification in 2018 and now getting to see her celebrating her amazing past makes all the work truly worth it!✨

HELLO NEW STEM!🌱 Lucy Ann came in for some routine maintenance along with a brand new stem, as you can see the water had got into the old one and caused some extensive rot. It’s smaller than the other ones you may have seen us install previously (on DLS Reda & Sundowner) but the process is still the same and the purpose just as important!🫡 She’ll be good as new and back in the water in no time ✅

We’ve got an update on 2 Dunkirk Little Ships coming soon; One is finished & going home and another is almost finished & going back in the water. Stay tuned!
