Sorry for being very quiet recently, it’s been a very busy few of weeks!

Here’s a couple of pics from some recent jobs including services, hand brake cables, a failed steering ball joint for a local farmer which had to be done quickly as it meant they couldn’t keep the cows clean and another trip out to Jeremy Clarkson’s house to assist Coslin construction who had a couple of issues with a digger and dumper.

A recent job for a local farmer, this was a defender that had been driven into flood water and got stuck for a couple of days. It had taken on a lot of water with 16l of oil/water mix drained from the sump! The fuel tank was also full of water. The injectors were removed and the engine spun over to clear the water. After a few hours cleaning the fuel system and doing an oil change it started straight away!

Here’s a couple of jobs from last week. First a snapped spark plug removal, the thread had snapped off in the head of the engine and needed to be extracted ready for the new spark plug. With the thread removed it was decided by the customer to replace all 4 spark plugs for peace of mind.

Second was a snapped front spring. The spring was very close to piercing the side wall of the tyre, a new spring fitted and its back on the road.

A few jobs from the last week or so, including a UJ replacement on a feeder wagon that failed and wore through the yoke casing. A suction pump that the internals had failed on jamming the pump solid and two full services on two John Deere’s. All carried out for local farms.

Another job was this feed meal auger, the internal flights had snapped off at the motor end and the very bottom section had completely worn away from years of use. The auger was shortened to get rid of the worn out section. The top half was then welded back onto the pulley and a new bearing installed to make sure it lasts for years to come!

Things have been off to a good start this year. From timing chain replacement to a few services and replacing some knives in a farmers feeder wagon, the work has been interesting with a good variety of jobs to do. We are fully booked for the next two weeks but we are still available for any emergency call outs.

A rear crossmember replacement on a local builders 7.5T lorry. The old crossmember had snapped off both ends. You can’t get brand new crossmembers anymore so a second hand one had to be sourced. The part has been fitted and they are back on the road.

One of last weeks jobs was a gearbox rebuild for a local farm. We’ve done a few of these now for the same farmer, they are used for scraping the muck in the cow sheds so it’s vital to keep them going
