☀️ Summer Driving Tips for New Drivers 🚗🌞

Planning a road trip or heading off to enjoy the sunshine? Summer is a great time to build confidence behind the wheel, but it’s also important to stay safe.

Here are our top tips for new drivers:

✅ Check your car before setting off
• Tyre pressure and tread
• Oil and coolant levels
• Windscreen washer fluid
• Lights are working
• Fuel up before a long journey

🌡️ Stay hydrated
Keep a bottle of water in the car, especially on longer journeys. Driving when you’re tired or dehydrated can affect your concentration.

😎 Don’t forget your sunglasses
Bright sunshine can reduce visibility. Make sure they’re suitable for driving and keep your windscreen clean inside and out.

🚗 Take regular breaks
If you’re driving for more than 2 hours, stop for a break. A quick stretch and fresh air can make a big difference.

📱 Plan your route
Know where you’re going before you leave and avoid using your phone while driving.

🚙 Leave plenty of space
Summer roads can be busier with holiday traffic, cyclists and pedestrians. Keep a safe following distance and be patient.
