Unfortunately someone reversed into our van before the Easter weekend. So guess what I spent the weekend doing with the Easter bunny 🐰 😆

Dent was pulled out, repaired and painted. New lights from came in record time whilst the spoiler that i've had since last year and painted weelll before Christmas I finally put on her as well so she's now back on the road 😎

💦🌨❄FROST PROOF YOUR PAINT❄🌨💦

If you think about it automotive paint has got to be pretty resilient - hot daytime temperatures in the height of summer to the minus freezing temperatures of deepest winter. That's ALOT for paint to deal with; contracting and stretching almost constantly, albeit minutely

Now a vehicle has multiple layers of paint, each one for a specific purpose - the bottom layer providing corrosion protection and the top layer a cosmetic glossy protective layer. But what happens with older paintwork or if the protective layers of paint gets compromised by a scratch? With the increased salt, water & grit on our roads how do you best protect your paint?

As with everything preparation is key:
🚘 before winter sets in thoroughly wash and seal your paintwork with a wax
🚘 try and keep your car clean, regularly wash road salt and grime off paintwork to prevent corrosion
🚘 avoid automated car washes if its very dirty as you will inadvertently micro scratch your paint
🚘 Garage or cover you car if possible when not in use
🚘 avoid using hot water to wash your pride and joy when it's really cold - the two temperature extremes can lead to micro scratches and cracks in the paintwork

You could always go that extra step and ensure you get a coat of dedicated paint protection for your car or bike - another layer of invisble protection against the unpredictability of an English winter, ensuring your paintwork is shielded from girt, stone chips as well as bird droppings, tree sap and potentially finer micro scratches. Whether you own a super car or a scooter pamper your paintwork with a polish, because when the sun does come out you want that paintwork to pop! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most of your prides and joy have spent the winter and potentially the spring tucked up somewhere, waiting for the warmer sun drenched days; zo nows the time to get them out, blow of any dust and lay down a protective polish coat in readiness for some summer fun.

Polish contains micro-fine abrasives. These abrasives gently clean the paint surface without damaging it. Great for removing or smoothing out fine scratches, swirls, slight stone chips or bringing dull paintwork back to its best.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Polish also preserves the paint and protects it against the weather. Great news for us in the UK where it rains a far bit but because our weather is pretty unpredictable at best - hot sun one minute and hail the next! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

However polishing is not for regular use and over polishing can wear your paint down to the primer, so polish with care! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A quick smart repair on this Audi A6 Le Man addition, a chip on the rear quarter ruining this cars otherwise good looks 👌
