With some out the box thinking, we pressurised the cooling system with the spark plugs and oil filter removed.

You can see that cylinder 4 started to fill up, indicating the leak into that cylinder. This indicates either, headgasket fault or crack in the head or block.

The customer will now be recommended options for repair.

The pride of the chrysler fleet was in today, a 300c

With a 6.1 litre v8 hemi!

Unfortunately an overheating problem has caused one of the headgaskets to fail. A quick test confirmed this and we got to work. Genuine parts are being shipped in, both heads will be removed and tested along with new thermostat and waterpump.

Even with a 425 horsepower engine, the mechanics are reminiscent of an old Austin mini we have in at the moment. with a pushrod engine nearly 40 years old.

Stay posted for updates of how the rebuild is going πŸš™

Cloudy headlamps?

This vehicle failed its MOT with poor beam image. We solved this by polishing the lenses. This is much cheaper than replacing the lamp units and can be done on the same day.

If you are due an MOT or require advise regarding it give us a call on πŸ“ž 01242 255355

This customer avoided wasting money by having a head gasket leakage test.

After loosing water, identified as a heater matrix pipe leak, we carried our a head gasket test to ensure the repair would fix overheating issues. Failing the test and indicating exhaust gasses in the cooling system, the customer has taken the vehicle back to the dealer he bought it from for an extensive repair.

Worried about a vehicle you have just bought? Book it in for a once over, we could identify problems that would save you money in the future.

Following a few phonecalls from NHS drivers asking about topping up adblue we decided to put a few photos up to show where it goes.

Usually the filler is located next to the diesel filler and is indicated by its blue cap. Do not put the adblue in with the diesel.

Adblue is readily available from garage forecourts and isn't actually blue but clear. The containers usually come with a screw on spout to make it easier to fill up.

If the adblue runs too low The vehicle will refuse to start.

The vehicle manual will give you anymore guidance if you can locate it.

If still unsure pop in or give us a call πŸ“ž on 01242 255355 and we'd be happy to help.
