It is with great sadness that we are informing you that CCS WINDSCREENS LTD will close it's doors this Friday 21st April for good.
We have been compulosy purchased and the company will be extinguished.
Below is a story about our company history
My Dad’s little empire
In 1977 my Dad joined forces with two partners, to create CCS Windscreens LTD at Gallows Corner in Romford, Essex.
The first member of staff to join my Dad still works for us today 46 years on, which in itself is pretty amazing.
We became Sunroof specialists for the well-known brands, and continued to be a main agents for Webasto and repair many inbuilt/factory sunroofs.
Window tinting started in about 1984, which became a huge part of our business.
In 1985 we incorporated Brentwood Windscreens and then a year later, in 1986, we incorporated Walford Windscreens and took over the depot, where we still are today, in Navigation Road, Chelmsford, Essex.
Walfords was a well-known business (the owner Mr Ernie Walford) which had been running since 1947 and we have continued to sustain relationships with customers which we are proud to still service up until today and staff members migrated into CCS Windscreens and some are still working with us today.
In 1992 we had to move from our Romford depot due to the redevelopment of the area to make way for a new retail park, but we managed to remain on Gallows Corner just a short distance away.
In 2005 we closed our Romford depot due to continuous break-ins and vandalism in the area.
We continued to run the business from Chelmsford, Essex and transferred our window tinting and sunroof services to this depot.
More recently we have incorporated 2 local family run businesses, SOLO Windscreens in 2016 and PJB Windscreens in 2017.
We offered many services here at CCS Windscreens Ltd such as Tractor glass, supplying and cut flat laminated glass, we fit glass to Classic and Vintage vehicles, sunroof installations and repairs, Auto-Film Tinting, Perspex stockists - which includes cut to size or pattern, supplying and fitting of door glasses, heated rear windows and windscreens to all Commercial vehicles and cars.
In 2008 I joined CCS Windscreens Ltd and since then my Dad has taken a bit more of a back seat so I have been running the company.
I am very proud of my Dad for what he has achieved, most of our employees have worked here since leaving school and many still remain.
We care about customer satisfaction and take pride in our work which I believe keeps our regular customers coming back to see us.
Over the past 46 years we have seen recessions and managed to keep our head above the water. Small family run businesses such as our own often struggle in the current times we live in especially with insurance companies trying to restrict their policyholders from being able to choose a supplier but we believe our work ethos to always keep our customers happy has helped us thrive.
